• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Another great time with a bunch of SpyderLovers

Lamont's BBQ & the SITS

+I enjoyed a vacation to the 2010 Spyders in the Smokies (SITS) gathering in Gatlinburg, TN and Great Smoky Mountains National Park last week. The weather was fantastic Monday through Saturday, but Sunday was a ride-home soaker.

I left Monday morning, and captured some Scavenger Hunt points enroute. Here's a map of my general route. (Not exact.)

Day 1 was 805 miles, with an overnight with my brother's family in (#9) Denver, NC.
Day 2 was 576 miles, with an expensive Georgia State Park tent site outside of (#17) Chester, GA. ($30 to sleep on their precious earth!)
Day 3 was 407 miles, arriving at my (#20) Gatlinburg, TN hotel room for a 4-night stay.

(#2n +50) Chester, New Jersey

Forrest L. Evatt (83) and his younger brother Fred shared that their grandfather was a U.S. Marshal in the area (late 1800s), but was denied postmaster status because he couldn't hold two federal positions; thus, their grandmother "Lou" Evatt became the first female postmaster in the nation. Chester, Florida is buried so far in the boondocks, that Forrest told me to share with the rest of the world that "I'd reached the end of it".

During my visit to the Gatlinburg area, I added another 625 enjoyable miles, including two loops of the Tail of the Dragon (one with a souvenir), Deal's Gap, and a ride up 14-mile one-way very-primitive seasonal Parson Branch dirt road.

Great photos Roadkilll! Liked the one w/ your "souvenir" and the LEO presenting it to you:roflblack:

Glad you made it back in one piece & it was great to meet you at smoky's

Lamont, thank you so much for your hospitality. Also a thanks to all the people who helped make the BBQ such a success.

It was neat to be able to talk with people that were friends on the board but never met them face to face.

And yes, the food was yummy good.:2thumbs:

Thanks for checking in musicarcade, and especially you Yazz. I was hoping the two of you would make it home alright from all of the festivities. :D

Sorrry I missed it. Some day I will retire (for the second time) and will make all the Spyder events. Hope to see everyone in Cuba Mo. in April.

Hi

ThreeFeet here and that RT is mine and if I had known that Mr and Mrs Cowtown had trailered it down just for me I would have KILLED somebody to get info on WHERE YOU LIVE... As it was G MAN was out looking for me and so he missed meeting your wife. My appologies to him. I am SOOOOO sorry I didn't get there. I had been on the SE5 since 0930 and with a few stops was on it till I ran out of patience, time( it was after 5 or 6 when I got back to Smokies), willingness to keep going or what ever I just couldn''t go any further. I had raced to Greenville ( no tickets tho Thank God was doing 75 in a 40 I think) only to get messed up about WHERE IS 11E!!!!! Think I finally found it and between the heat, tired butt, and total anger at ME for trying to do so much in one day that I pooped out called G MAN and said I coulden't get there. Seems he was up on 81 and I was in Greenville. I didn't think I was gona make it back to Gatlinburg. I don't think I had ever been that tired except when In Army on moving a whole hospital from one spot to another. My appologies to Lamont for not getting there. But mostly my appologies to G MAN and Mr and Mrs Cowtown for not being there to see my bike for the first time. I have it home now it has the hitch on and I am ready to travel!!!! Thanks to Cowtown CREW!!! Love ya'll. :2thumbs::firstplace: Cowtown folks are THE ONES!!!!:firstplace::firstplace:
