Here is my report from yesterday:
Good Morning All: I just spent at least 15 minutes attempting to attach a photo...to no avail. What's new when it comes to me and technology? I still don't get it!!!! So b it.
The last few days have been spent here in Springfield, MO participating in various events that are part of Spyderfest 2014.
This part of MO has some beautiful country to ryde in so a group of 8 on spyders left motel parking lot headed to Eureka Springs. Shortly after we left there was a Spyder "dead" on side of road...so rattigan-Roger (now this guy you WANT to take on any trip...he is the gadget guy + and what is cool he knows how to run everything. So he has this great little jumper thingy (I have cables!!!)..gets her running and we head on down the road. 2 of our group decided at the point they wanted to travel a different direction. so they left us at first exit. We continue on to Eureka Springs, AR..and saw the Statue of Jesus that is the 3rd largest in the world. Very impressive (that was the pic I was trying to send...with our 6 Spyders in front). Blue skies and a few puffy white clouds. OK have you got it pictured in your mind. Take a picture quick...cause the odds of you getting a real one from me is running 0.
After a stop there one of the group had hear of a roadside diner so we topped for late lunch there....excellent food. Then into town of Eureka Springs (2000 population). I will need to do some history search...old old town..build out of hillside...large hand built water ditch running along narrow street...old railroad. Yep gotta get more info on that great little spot in the road.
Then we headed back toward Springfield...back roads, twistie, 2 lane, farm country..up hills and down hills and just plain NICE.
Got back and pretty much done for the night. Spyderfest was in full race mode...drag racing, fireworks, bonfire. And always many many people.
This morning I am headed back out to vendor village...pretty much done all the damage to my plastic there...but do have to have one of those little jumper "boxes" that rattigan-Roger used. Now he has a few widgets, gadgets and whirly gigs that I will pass on. He even has a guage that is soooo accurate on his fuel that it tells him how many fumes he has left!!!
This was the first 200+ mile ryde on the new '14. Wonderful beast it is...of course I am in break-in stage, but even so I was very impressed with the mileage. Hi 30's...
Well, hear the troops spilling out of their room and into the parking lot...that is where the morning planning starts...today is looking like a mighty fine day to ryde, shop, talk. ryde, talk...phew I better up the octane in my coffee!!!
Have a great day everyone.
