• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Another Farkle Question...Extended Brake Pedal

I know, I know...It's only a $30 item. But, I was kind of worried about getting the tip of my riding boot stuck under the extended brake pedal. Any feedback from those who have used it?

Hank

I've had the larger brake pedal for over a year now and have NEVER had any problems of getting my foot stuck under it. also, it is very reassuring on finding the larger pedal when needed for a quick stop..
BIG F

Yup! Used it on my first two RTS, and have one sitting here in my desk for bike #3...
To me: it's a "must-have".
:agree: I'm new to Spyders having mine for only 4 months. Added the brake pedal, adapted to it quickly and also feel it's a "must have"

Just installed Refined Cycle's BPE2 on my RT Limited. Easy install. I haven't ridden it yet; however, I can already tell just by pushing on the pedal that it is going to be much more comfortable for me. Looking forward to trying it out on the road.

A related question - Instead of (or perhaps in addition to) swapping out brake pedals, is it possible to adjust the angle of the brake pedal? I find that I need to left my foot to go from my stock foot peg to the brake pedal. If the pedal's starting and ending points could be adjusted just a tad lower (perhaps even only 1/4 inch), that would make things easier and more comfortable for me.

Can this be done on an F3-T?

Thanks!

Got about 100 miles on now since installing the extension. I love it! Much more natural for me. Easier to use. Just like on my previous bike, just reach with the toe to stop.

I installed something very similar but I mounted it in a way that it lowered the extension so I didn't have to pick my foot up so much to press the pedal. I like this because I can use the toe of my shoe to press the brake vs. I had to pick up my foot or role my ankle to use the standard pedal. .

Did a similar modification with my extension brake pedal. No interference at all with emergency braking.

Have it on both bikes. Jane has short legs so her normal foot position is behind it not under it. On mine, I ride with my foot on the edge of the floorboard unless I'm using the highway pegs. I like it - it's easier to 'find' when I need to hit the binders.
