• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Another dealer dropping Spyder Line

I wonder what "extreme pressure from BRP" was related to. Not enough sales? Too much warranty work done?
I assume BRP’s stance of “x” amount of units sold in 2020, therefore you “will” take “Y” number of units in 2021. My dealer almost quit as a result of this stance.

I sold bikes for a few years at a large multi brand dealership. They are a Can-Am ATV/Spyder dealer. They were interested in picking up Triumph or BMW. Both MFR's wanted more premium SQ footage and exposure than the dealership wanted to comply with. Triumph was notorious for this and lost a lot of dealerships. The North American President has since been fired ....

A few years ago I was talking with a BRP powersports regional parts representative. He said Can Am pushes for sales quotas that don't take local market conditions into account. That was the reason Spyder dealers couldn't make it in the Pocatello, ID area.

that is very unfortunate that you have no dealer closer to you for Spyder service, etc. I live in the Omaha Metro with two Spyder dealers but have to go to Atlantic, IA (45 mi) for quality and dependable Spyder service. I guess BRP just isn't interested in getting a network of good dealers across America?? Must be something in their Canadian blood????????
BIG F

Or maybe the dealers haven’t figured out that must give good service to make more money. Both sides need to give their heads a shake. To blame just one side is very short-sighted. Oh, and btw, our blood is the same as yours.

Part of the issue may be what the dealer chooses to promote. Around here 4 wheelers are very popular and they can be used year around. Snowmobiles are also quite popular, as are personal watercraft. The dealer I referred to, does not have a lot of floor space and never had more than 2 Spyders on the display floor.

I guess I am just lucky. I have 3 dealers all within 30 minutes of my home (North, West and East of me). One of them 5 miles away. But I bought mine from a dealer that is 25 minutes away due to price!

I am in CA and my nearest dealer only services Can Am 4 wheelers, the other dealers are at least 50+ miles away. I have yet to see one Ryker on the road and have only seen maybe 3 Spyders. I am not sure why they are not more popular with all the money here. I am looking to purchase my first Spyder and luckily for YouTube so I can do some of the work myself.

I think BRP really needs to get it together on dealers, service and parts supply. I know 'covid', but it can be the excuse for everything forever. BRP is big, they have a good product in the Spyder/Ryker line, but without reasonable customer service, that is one big matzo ball hanging out there. Prices are another program, but if if customers like and enjoy, prices don't seem to mean that much. For example, Evo Harley, oh my! It's customer satisfaction after the sale of course. That is lacking in many situations, not just BRP, so not just picking on their products.
