My wife and I went to the range today to get in some practice time, firing our 22's, 38's 380's and nines.
As I write this I just finished cleaning seven weapons.
I carry a Smith & Wesson bodyguard .380 in a hip holster when I ride. It is not a gun I like to practice with because of the kick and the fact that the slide is very difficult for these old hands to pull.
While at the range I looked at a Sig Sauer 238 and a Sig 938. Both have a much easier slide mechanism than the Smith but they carry a big price tag at $650. My Smith has laser sights and a six round mag. The Sig lets me pack more ammo and I really don't need laser sights. I can do a deal on the Sig for $325 plus my Smith.
A friend of mine who is a LEO says that is a good deal but he tells me the new Taurus Millenium G2 that just came out this year has a slide mech that is even easier than the Sig and it is half the price.
I have never read good things about a Taurus and while he agrees, he seems to feel this new gun is the real deal. He has been testing one for a few weeks. We both agree the Sig is better quality but unless I'm planning to become a paid mercenary I may not use a Taurus enough for that kind of quality to be a factor.
Any Spyderlovers who have tried the new Taurus yet?
