• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Another Call from Carlo

I got another call from Carlo this morning. It was to inform me the fix to the update was available. Was told to check with my dealer about getting it done, and to see they order the parts, the hose and a hardware kit, said the parts were in stock and should be no problem getting them. Since I was going to be about a mile away from the dealer, I would go by. The dealer, who is closed on Monday, didn't know anything about it, but when he checked Bossweb, it showed the update. He said he would check it out and find out what was involved, get the parts on the way, and call me when he had them to do the update. It will be so good to have mt Spyder running good again.

Called my dealer today, he pretty much said the same thing. I will call again tomorrow to see when the parts will be in and make an appointment to take spydie in for her checkup. Sure hope this does the trick. She ran so good before we "fixed" her. I see the update is on BRP's site too, says they have to add a hose for the evap canister as well as the computer update. Keep your fingers crossed...

A number of us had the "fix to the fix" done at the Spyders in the Smokies Rally by BRP tech reps. My bike runs great afterward. No surging, sputtering, or backfiring now

I also got my 2nd call from Carlo yesterday - letting me know the update is available. I have called my dealer this morning to see if I can get the update done on Saturday morning.
I have been very impresseed with the customer service from BRP about this issue.

Thanks to BRP and Carlo. :2thumbs:

Also a thanks to Lamont for sending my concerns on to BRP.

got an email from carlo today

got an email stating the same as above. "needs ecm update and vent hose added". called dealer, was not aware but said would check into it and get back with me.

hopefully spyder will be like new again......someday!

thanks again to lamonster and carlo for all their help and quick response to get these issues reported.

I find it most interesting that they are moving the vent hose. Only one reason I can think of for doing that.

Our Spyder is two weeks old. What is this update that I keep reading about? Is that something that would apply to ours?

Just got the:spyder2:back together last Sunday after two months in the garage in pieces. The "Full Moon" is now mostly black.
Anyway, called the dealer this week and gave them the V.I.N. # and the service guy said that it needed a D.P.S update AND an " E.C.M." update. He said that he didn't know what the " E.C.M." update was. Taking it there Saturday and I guess I'll find out.

The ECM update is a supplement to the DPS update. It also requires a new canister vent hose. Make sure your dealer orders the vent hose and the hardware kit before you bring your Spyder in. The rest is all software.
