There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. annoying beeping when parking

I'm a little perplexed, I've tried a bunch of different ways and it seems like the Spyder beeps at me when I come to stop-----
Here's the way I do it
Foot on brake
Shift to neutral
press parking break
Turn key off and pull out

I do this every time, sometimes it works , sometimes it doesn't, does anyone else have this issue.....is the procedure wrong, I have 1250 miles on my new Spyder and it seems to be random whether it beeps or not

Please advise

stupid question, have you looked to see if it is a car beeping at you,,,,, sorry i just had to ask :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I'll try waiting a few more seconds , I'll repost it it helps
 That will help there is also the indicator light on dash :popcorn:If it's not on & blinking :spyder2: Thinks the P brake is off & will fuss at you:lecturef_smilie::lecturef_smilie: If it is as random as you say there can be a problem with the indicator switch or wires, worth looking into. If you have the electric Pbrake
fyi should be under the side panel center of bike just above foot rest on RH side when on bike(same as brake on rear tire or "throttle side") will also be good time to inspect your cable & how well it rolls on the cam

Quit parking next to Telephone Company trucks that are in reverse! :roflblack:
Seriously: Make sure that the parking brake indicator on your main screen is happily blinking, before shutting things down...

Not related to the beep (thread police, back down!) but I don't think shifting to neutral serves any purpose. The bike will automatically be in neutral when you start it up.

If you shift to reverse and turn the bike on, the backup lights will stay on until the bike is started.

Whether you shift into neutral, or decide to leave the bike in gear: the key is to develop a routine that you can follow. nojoke

..... The bike will automatically be in neutral when you start it up....

But if you leave an SE in gear when you shut it down, surely it won't let you start the engine unless your foot is on the brake pedal?? :dontknow:

That's what mine does anyway. :lecturef_smilie:

So it DOES help to select neutral & apply the park brake before shutting it down! That way, when I go to ryde it next I can do the pre-ryde check, then put the key in & turn it on while standing alongside my Spyder & then begin the jacket, helmet, gloves routine, doing the mode thing (after I've re-read the Safety Card, of course!! :roflblack: ) as & when it allows, and then actually start the engine up & let it idle for a bit while I complete the rest of the jacket, helmet, gloves routine... and all that happens before I actually climb aboard!

You can't do that if you don't leave it parked in neutral! :ohyea:

when I got my 2012 RT LTD I also had a problem with the break not engaging. Was shutting down to fast when I slowed down I would feel the break pedal push back. If I rush I will get the beep. Feel for the push.

good luck

Yes Spyder will find neutral on it's own at start up. The REASON for hitting neutral before shut down, is it allows you to start
without your foot on the brake. Rare is the time I let it find neutral on it's own.

You must have a bit of a delay, I turn my park brake on and wait till it blinks then put in neutral and turn off. But when I accidently forget Park Brake it beeps I turn key on press brake and turn off almost instantly and no beep.

My 2014 RT-s will beep when the retained power finally shuts down. I don't think there is any real reason for it. It just does it. It is also easy to not notice this if you are distracted by any other activity. Anything.

Update - randomly

Just to let you know, I dropped the Spyder off at my dealer before going on family vacation. Week and a half later -NO update.

They can get the Spyder to beep randomly on shutdown but can't find anything wrong. They are a Platinum dealer, they should know what they are doing. As soon as they open tomorrow I will find out what is going on and give u update:spyder2::spyder2:

Beeping update

Just to bring you up to date. 16 Rt-s went to dealer for 1.5 weeks, readjusted parking brake motor, better but still about 1 every 10 times-still beep. Dealer contacted BRP
Got Spyder back rode about 1000 more miles , dealer called BRP sent a new motor, dropped Spyder off today, should get it back early next week. Dealer has been great......

My experience

I have had this happen a couple of times now, the first time I was getting gas when I went to the leave the brake disengaged how ever the light remained on I drove home parked the bike felt the brake engage. turn the key off and it would beep I tried turning it off and nothing got off the bike it beeped for a few mins then stop did not happen again till yesterday I took a video of I'm going to see a dealer as I think the switch may be having issues.

Keep us posted. My dealer has been great . They are replacing the motor now , sounds like BRP isn't sure what it is, I'm guessing if the motor doesn't do it they will do the switch next. I'll post when I get it back
