Last year occasionally my phone, using google music, would pause a song for no apparent reason while BT connected to the Spyder, stopping playback. But the dash would show that it was still playing. I found that all I needed to do was advance to the next song and it would start playing again. This year it is far worse. My phone was updated to Android 9 over the winter. So I am assuming that or some other update is why it is worse this year. Advancing to the next song works, but often it would often stop again before the next song is done. I now have found that this only happens when I only let the google music player auto start in the background. If I take the extra step of starting the google music app on the phone. It will play without stopping. I hope this helps someone else.
