• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

And speaking of batteries...

It's time to replace the battery in Bruisersbaby's '10 RTS. Been acting up for awhile now. Yes. we do keep it on a tender.

So are you going with an OEM, a Motobatt, a Shorai? :dontknow:
I'm very curious about this as I'm also staring down that barrel... and looking for an answer!

Keep us posted. I have been considering a new battery for my 2010 this year also. I don't want the battery to fink out on me somewhere around the middle of nowhere. No problems yet----but??

I would hold off on a Shorai till I get my replacment back from the manufacturer, the one I had could only barely start the spyder and they tested and said it was fine. It was the largest size they make so they are sending a new one to me to check out. My old battery is still fine and turns it over easily.

If I had time to order, this one would be high on my list as they are widely used by many motorcyclists and come OEM in some. http://store.yuasabatteries.com/p/ytx24hl

If I had to have one quickly I'd chek out Interstate which can be found pretty easily in my neck of the woods.

Yuasa is the OE battery in a Spyder.

I don't know what available in the US, but in Canada I can get a Parts Canada battery for about $100 and it is a Yuasa battery with the Parts Canada name on it.

Yes, I'll probably stay with the OEM. I'll see what the dealer has available. Taking the blueberry in this afternoon. Will update when the service is done which will hopefully be tomorrow.

Well, true to form, looks like the service won't be done until Saturday. Seems the Spyder tech has to now split his time between the two stores the dealer owns. Kris told me yesterday maybe I need to look into becoming a Spyder Certified tech. :hun: nojoke After over 44 years turning wrenches you'd think she would know better.

Dealer just called. Kris' Spyder is finished. The service writer said everything checked out including the battery and charging system. Hmmmm...

Question: Are the MotoBatt's a direct, drop-in replacement for the OEM Yuasa?
Yes BOB about as close as u can get but I am just adding this to mine cause of all the Frackels that I run an I like to show it off when its not running:thumbup: it can draw a few on lookers lol
