• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

And so it begins...

SWMBO (aka sewnonnie on this forum) asked this morning, "Can I stop by your work on my way home and trade my car for the :f_spider:?" (She works daze and I work eves). What could I say:dontknow:? It is 'our' :f_spider: and some windshield time prior to taking her motorcycle road test on Friday would be good. But, is this a precursor of things to come?

I'm seeing the same things happening here too...:spyder2:X2 in the near future for us?!?!:dontknow::shemademe_smilie:

And So It Begins...

I have to ask. Does your state have a actual road test for motorcyles ? Ohio and most states do it in a parking lot with cones.

My husband says that the best motorcycle accessory he has is a wife who rides. Get ready to buy another one you won't regret it.

Ch..ch..changes...

So, she didn't make it by work last night. To make up for it, she took it to work today :yikes:. She is getting some serious windshield time (about 90 miles round trip). I feel like a parent the first time their child walks to school solo. (where is the nail-biting smilie?)

That is how things went with us as well. My wife asked if she could try ryding mine, and then I had to get her one of her own in order to get mine back. :roflblack:

Best of luck to you in this situation.

And So It Begins...

It has happened to me as well, today well lounging around watching football, missus walks into the room and says, "I'll be back later, I'm going for a ride." I replied, without me!!!! I quickly got dressed and went for a ride, we have a RT LTD and she needs some road time before she takes her test. So off we go.

So it begins

That was the only issue we had in buying our RT: "who would sit in the front seat?" She has had her motorcycle endorsement for about 30 years (and we are both a bit on the control freak side). But after about a 3 weeks of riding behind and getting her 'windshield time' in, she is getting closer and closer to her own Spyder. She doesn't want the RT though, she wants the sportier RS, which makes me even more nervous as she has a bit of a heavy wrist.

I, too, feel that "teenage-parent-driving" nervousness thing when she is ryding alone, but I just try to chill and act nonchalant like it's" all cool." (while silently throwing up in my mouth.) It's not that I don't trust her motorcycle skills, but we all know a Spyder is different from riding a regular motorcycle and then there is still the Charlotte traffic. The bottom line is: I value her life more than mine and being on any bike has some inherent risks. I just worry when I can't physically be The One minimizing those risks for her. In reality, she may be a better ryder than I am, but that doesn't mean I will stop fretting over it.

So... know anyone selling an RS in the Carolinas?
