did see my dealer thes morning to buy oil for my spyder oil change. I was told they have problems with the suply of BRP oil.They where told by BRP Australia to use CASTROL oil.The oil used is castrol power 1 gps 10w-40.On the container it states that it is ,Part synthetic based.The cost of BRP oil is $102.aust per 4 ltr the castrol cost $65.aust per 4 ltr.Spyder need 3.9 ltr per oil change.i hope this will save us some money.

CASTROL oil:: Mine is in the shop right now for the first 600 miles service, this will probably be the only time I let the dealer ever change my oil, I plan on doing it mysefl after this one,, I just thought that it might be important to have them do the first one anyway.. I plan on watching the board and fiding what is working the best for the spyder as far as a FULL sythetic oil--- I know on my other bike I use the ROTELLA 5-40 full sythetic but not sure I want to use it in this machine.... I have looked at other post in the forum about the types of oils to use but again I have a little bit of time to decide on which one, I am kind of seeing what all the reports have to say from other members..

PS: I'm not a big CASTROL oil guy---Rotella or Mobil 1 or maybe PURPLE??

Yeah Henk, Just had my 5000k service and they used the Castrol, I think it's better now... the clutch disengages properly when I pull up. (but that could be because the old oil had done its job:dontknow
