• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How many of you remember Scotty?

The Motorbike Professor sent me a n email earlier in the week, and we've spent some time catching up.
For those of you who joined after he left: Scotty was always the "Go-To" Guy; with all of the answers about our Spyders. His answers were always put in easy to understand terms, and had just the right amount of humor too!
He still rides his 2011 RT, but Nancy is reluctantly selling her GS. His Barn is completed, and is full of his really cool old bikes and nicely modified four wheeled conveyances.
He's taking on some bike restoration projects, and is even tackling some new designs for bridge building!

I just thought you would like to know that he and Nancy are both doing just fine... :D

Good to hear

Only enjoyed a short time as I came on late in the game. Know he got into big projects and it is good to hear they all turned out well and he is enjoying them and getting into new things. Thanks for the update... miss him around here.....

Just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in. Glad to hear that the old man is still doing well. Miss his insight and humor. Of course, I haven't been on here much either.

:D Jim!! Glad to see that you stopped by!

...And that you guys survived that big storm...
How is the house?

By the way: I see that we're both coming up on our eighth anniversary of being members in here.
When do we get our Gold Watches? :roflblack:

Gold Watch? Ha! The house is ok. Minor leaks. That wind and rain was rough. Wind was driving the rain in to any little opening. Still have some water in the back yard. Down to inches now instead of feet. But we are blessed compared to those further east and south. Kris is doing well. She got a new F3L delivered a day before the storm. With hip and leg problems, she was not able to ride the RT any long distance. She was able to drive a friends F3L and fell in love with it. Now, if we had some decent weather, and roads that weren't flooded...

I joined in here on September 20th, 2010, and you joined on the 21st... :D

What do you get for eight years: besides a load of crap? :roflblack:

Glad to hear that your house survived, and doubly-glad to hear that Kris is doing well! (Give her a hug from both of us!)
Tell her that I want to hear how she likes her new bike!

He was the best!
He passed on knowledge without putting people down.
When I didn’t see him after coming back to forum after 4 years, I was fearing the worst... good to know he is doing well.

Met Scotty the first time at the Chicago BRP event. Great guy loaded with knowledge. Ran into him a couple more times at other events but haven’t seen or heard from him in years. Good to hear he is still out there riding. Thanks for the info Bob.

Thanks for the news

When I bought my Spyder it was encouraging to have someone with a great deal of motorcycle experience like Scotty answer questions on the forum.
The forum has others who have been just as generous with advice, and it is appreciated as much as Scotty.
Thank you very much Bob

Passing on my thanks too.

Thanks for the update Bob. Scotty truly is missed on this site. I know he helped me when I first got into the Spyder scene.
