There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. An Irish Plea to BRP

Hi everyone,

Firstly, let me say this is a terrific place to get lots of information for anyone looking to buy a Spyder like me. Thank you to you all for this great forum.

A big thank you to UKSPYDERWEB and all the people there for all their help and assistance and for telling me about Spyderlovers.

As you've guessed I'm Irish and a huge Can Am Spyder fan but unfortunately we don't have a dealership for Can Am Spyder's here in Ireland. I decided to write this little poem and hope that some of you who may be in touch with any Can Am representatives, might put a good word in for us and just maybe they might take a look at Ireland and give us our first dealership!!

Thank you to you all in advance.

An Irish Plea to BRP

I live in Ireland next door to the UK,
Where Spyders can be bought every single day,
But for us on this island no dealership can you find
That sells BRP Spyders which just blow your mind,
So today I'm sending an Irish plea,
To beg and beg BRP,
Please give us a dealership and you won't be sorry,
Cause the Spyders you'll sell will make lots of lolly €€€

Go on Can-Am Cross the border - So Silversurfer1 can place his order

Well done Silversurfer 1 - We need all the help we can get to Can-Am to invest in this side of the Pond

I hope you can get fixed up with the 3-wheel experience soon. Don't you hate wanting something that's just out of reach?:gaah:

An idea would be to find a reputable motorcycle dealer with a good record for service and try to talk him/her into approaching BRP about being a dealer. Or, if you have money to invest, you could go into the business!

Good luck!

Have to agree..!!

your best bet is to have a dealer of bikes, watercraft, snowmobiles etc see if they can get a can am dealership. They would not conflict with anyone...good luck..!!

:welcome: Waiting for some things can be pretty difficult. Hopefully BRP sees enough demand that they are willing to expand their dealerships to Ireland. I am guessing they are waiting for someone to become their next dealer there.

Thanks everyone for the support. When I last contacted Can Am some months ago, they said they were actively looking for a dealer here in Ireland but nothing seems to be happening. There is a dealer up north who sells some Can Am products like Seadoo's but no Spyders.

lost case

Hey Buddy,
I got first one and one only Spyder ever sold in Ireland - Dealership went bust before it took off. Reason? - BRP.
Spoke with Lenny from Watterford who owns HD Dealership back in 2009 and ever since several times. He was hugely interested in Spyder dealership too but BRPs terms and conditions for Dealership are just ridiculous and i can only confirm that, i saw them. Being realistic, there is no slightest hope under this conditions for having a Dealership in Ireland. I contacted BRP UK intensively, have some of theirs personal contacts, still same song but no dance. If i wasnt told by them about 20 times that they have a new Dealer lined up i would have some hope.
Myself, and two friends - all Spyder ryders meet up every now and again and do our farkling and maintenance at Pat's place down in Inch in Killarney.
If you are looking for Spyder from UK dealers, call 158 Performance, can't be beaten!
Give us a shout or PM me when get your own Spyder, otherwise, see you in Bikefest Killarney in a few weeks.
Good Luck

Spyderfest Ireland 2014 - now there's a great idea Kingers!!!!! Hopefully you guys will have a reason to visit if I ever get to actually own a Spyder and we just might organise the weather for ye too:yes:

DragonLord thanks for the info - looks like you have been trying for a very long time. I'm from Waterford and have spoken with Lenny in HD a lovely guy and a great crew there. Did also speak with Matt in 158 Performance and Ian in GS Jettech and Paul in Hughenden M40 all very nice but alas I need to trade in my Burgman trike and so far, no takers. I triked my 400 with a Danson Trike Kit from USA - beautiful and goes great, that was after I was told no one would insure me in Ireland on a Spyder. Just having triked it last June, I got a call from one insurance company who I had contacted for a Spyder quote, who now told me they insure Spyder's!!!!! Should I take this as a sign !!!!!!! So now even though I love my Burgman trike, I've been bitten by :spyder2: and really want to own one. Anyone out there interested in a trade??????

Still with nearly 300 Spyders in the UK and those here at home in Ireland who knows maybe BRP will come through - ever the optimist!!

thats a bummer! - i got my Spyder Insured with AON the minute i bought it and been with them ever since, i follow this website since i bought my Spyder, registered some year later, here i met Pat and Steve. Pity you didnt grab me on the road before you got your B triked, sure come to Killarney and we'll do a Dingle ride, its a 110th HD Anniversary so its gonna be big. Did you try trade in UK?

Was insured with AON on the Burgman originally and when I asked them to quote for the Spyder they said it was not on their books and they couldn't. Tried every insurance company in Ireland bar none and all gave me the same answer. Then when I triked my Burgman AON wouldn't insure me as a trike so I had to go to Carole Nash who did!! Work that one out!!!!!

I have tried to trade in with the Spyder dealers in the UK but though they have been very helpful they are not interested in a trade against a Spyder. My Burgman really is a beautiful machine and rides super and sometimes I think I'm mad thinking of selling it :yikes:
