There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Yes, this stuff happens on a regular basis. I have learned to give these people lots of room and not to do the road rage thing. Gunfights happen here on a regular basis--over less. :thumbup:

You are not alone! I've had several close calls on our Spyder but even more in our car!
It seems to be a combination of ignorance of the laws, inattention, and outright belligerence or pure road rage. Add cell phones and/or alcohol and it is getting exceedingly dangerous to be a driver of any type of vehicle in the U.S..
Most of this has happened to us in rural areas far more than in cities. The largest cities we've ridden our Spyder in are about 300,000 including the metropolitan area, so not real large but still sizable. The state police in Illinois don't seem to be too concerned with stopping speeders unless they are going 15-20 MPH over the limit. And this in a state desperate for money!
What will it take to put a stop to this insanity? I'm afraid to find out!

If someone is behind me, and doesn't like the speed that I travel: they should have left earlier, and been in front of me! nojoke

My wife reminded me of that fact when I gave a one finger salute to a woman who forced us off the road when she decided to pass a car right in front of us. I don't know if she thought we were a car further away because of the two headlights on our Spyder or if she just didn't see us or if she didn't care. Either way, it's getting scary out there!

We live in a small (7,500 people) semi-rural town which borders on three larger (16,000+ towns). The way people in their giant Suburbans, Escalades, etc. drive in this area is beyond belief. Pull right out in front of me when no one is behind me, just to save 5 seconds of their precious time. Turn in front of me rather than wait the afore mentioned 5 seconds. What is wrong with these people? I hit my Wolo air horn, then raise both arms like WTF? I get a lot of dirty looks & middle fingers like I did something wrong. Gee, maybe I interfered with an important meeting or a manicure/pedicure. Or, I interrupted a phone call or text (both illegal in CT). Amazing how many are startled when they hear my hor. Like deer in the headlights.

IT HAPPENED AGAIN!
Went out today for a nice ride up to Litchfield County, CT, then back down to Westport for a ride along the beach road. I was puttering along at 15 mph - the speed limit - when a car comes out of a side street after running a stop sign while yakking on his cell phone. He never even looked. Had I been going any faster I would have hit him. I laid on a long blast of my air horn, he flipped me off, and sped away. Further up the road the speed limit rises to 25 mph, and he's going like crazy. Well, the local LEO's know that people speed on this road and there is frequently a patrol car hiding somewhere along the way. Next thing I see - BUSTED!! An officer had him pulled over. Concerned citizen that I am, I pulled over behind the patrol car and waited for the officer to come back to his car. I told him my story, but I expected, since the officer didn't witness it, he could not cite the jerk for running a stop sign, making an unsafe turn, and gabbing on the phone. He did however tell me that he popped the guy for doing 50 in a 25 zone, and that he saw him talking on his phone. That is gonna cost the idiot some major bucks. The officer was really nice, and thanked me for letting him know what a jerkwad this guy was. Then he says to me, "That's a really nice bike". So we spent about 5 minutes chatting about the Spyder, while Mr. Moron was no doubt contemplating a change of shorts. Thank you Westport P.D.
