• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

An Escort to Remember

Just experienced an awesome and truly humbling event. The PGR in Central Illinois and American Legion Riders in the area were invited to escort the Vietnam Traveling Wall to its stop in Decatur. I've done funerals and another escort mission, but this was simply awesome.

As usual, I was flying the American and PGR flags in a holder I made to fit on the BRP hitch. As I reached the staging area, the RC was waving me to come forward. He wanted me and my Spyder at the front. There were hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of bikes. Most were HD, a few other makes and 3 Spyders that I saw. And of all the ones with flags, he wanted a Spyder in front. I was on my best behavior and truly honored to lead such a sobering and meaningful memorial.

If you haven't visited the real Vietnam Wall in DC and/or the traveling version, I'd encourage you to do so. Nearly 60,000 service personnel gave it all. Each one has a name and its etched thereon. Amen.

Congrats to you!

The northern group will come through my town Sunday afternoon. (The Kansas Vietnam Memorial is in our town.) We're all going to go out an line the Main Street into town with people holding large American flags.

I'm really looking forward to it.

Glad you had a great experience. By the way if anyone is ever in the Pensacola area, stop by Veteran's Memorial Park. There is a replica of the wall there just a bit smaller in size along with other monuments that will surely make you Proud to be an American.

We escorted the Wall That Heals last month. 600 motorcycles. We took it from South Boston VA. to Goldsboro NC. The next morning I was back to help set it up. What a humbling experience.

acinpcola- I have seen the Veterans Memorial Park. Very nice. I've also been to Joe Pattie's Fish Market. :2thumbs: And McGuire's Pub. Man I miss that place.

Yes Sir, the PGR and the Legion Riders are great people to go on missions with, I participate as often as I can and every mission is a very humbling and rewarding experience.
