• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

An Arresting Developement

I'm getting worried that some night driving home from work that I will be arrested for impersonating an officer. It seems that every night I drive the bike home, at least two cars will pull over when I'm behind them. A couple have pulled over as I approach them as if to let me by. My wife has commented that my headlights look as though they change from red to blue like our State Partol cars. When you guys get through laughing and come up off the floor, would anyone have a fix for this possible problem? Thanks in advance.

P.S. I guess I could sign on to the Police Acadamy.

Enjoy it while you can , if you get pulled just act all surprised and promise to sort it out , that usually works over here anyway !?!?!

Mine are aimed correctly and I still have people pull over. Probably the only way to correct it is to go to HID lights.

This is a known problem with the projector lights. I too have had people pull over. There was one report that a young girl thought she was being pulled over by the police but it was three wheel bike. She reported it to the police :opps:

You can adjust the lights yourself. On the RT, pull up and aim the lights at a garage door or wall. There is a specified distance, but it really doesn't matter. Remove the side cover where you check the oil, and its counterpart on the other side. You will see a brass knob on each side. Turn it to adjust the headlight downward (or upward). Watch the spot on the wall, or better yet, mark both spots with pieces of tape and watch exactly how far they move. The closer to the wall the less you have to move thethe "shadow". Adjust the opposite light to the same level, and see how that works. If necessary, do the same the next again.

Another tip is to run with high beams during the day. The shutter-type lights, along with the projector lenses, make the edge of the beam dance to opposing drivers, looking like flashing lights. The high beams have a wider beam, so they don't do that as much.

Bummer..!!

No one pulls over for me..they just get in my way..!! :roflblack: where is the siren on these things..?? :roflblack:

Friends of mine said my lights looked like they were flashing so now I run them on bright during the day. That fixed the problem and I try not to ride after dark. To many deer!

Try this

As a temporary fix pump some more air into the rear shock

Te manual gives the dimensions for setting up to adjust your headlights

When I got my spyder the low beams were set way to high, so I just took up raccoon hunting.:doorag:

Just sayin'............

When I first got mine, everyone kept flashing their lights at me. So, on my 600 mile service I had the tech adjust them and I haven't had the problem since.

:agree:

High Beams ALL the time in daylight-More visable and doesn,t take more power-Shutter is just up-Won,t drive at night either?
"Things go bump in the night!":yikes:

I am pretty sure several people think that I am an officer in the day time. My :spyder2: is white and I wear a white helmet with a black leather coat. Lot's of times I see cars slow down when they see me in their rear view mirror:)

they also pull over for me too even in the day time i have no idea why???:yikes::roflblack:
