• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Amount of brake pedal movement?

I have a 2010 RTSE5 and the brakes are very solid!!!!! No pumping required and a very firm pedal, the bike stops with very little effort just as it should. I purchased this spyder new in 2010, it is a PE edition. The only time the pedel needed pumping was when I let the brake fluid get a tad low& it does not take much for this to happen. You must still have a ton of air in the system & be a little low on fluid.

Thanks, I have started to come to the realization that I just don't think he bled the system correctly and it should be a firm pedal. They have it back today and said they will probably get to it by Tuesday. Hopefully they can figure it out. I gave them a lot of money based on their recommendations to bleed the brakes so hopefully they can get it fixed correctly.

Also there is plenty of fluid in the reservoir. Actually I think there might be a little to much because it is filled to the max and no room for any air to escape if it is in the lines. We will see what happens.

Thanks again!

I have a couple concerns with this dealer. I have a little over 26 K on a 2010 RT, replaced/upgraded pads once. Pedal firm before change, firm afterwards. Step on on the pedal and the spyder stops.
I believe the dealer said,l the spyder was driven with the parking brake locked. If my parking brake is locked, the Spyder is not moving. Seems that should be true on the RT since this is a electrical action. If more knowledgeable people have different opinions, please step in.

I hear your concerns and I agree with them. He didn't say the brake was locked...he said something was off on the adjustment of the cable and it was partially engaged and it ate the rear brake pads. They said they were almost metal on metal. They have been doing maintenance on my other two motos and have done a fantastic job and I would consider their maintenance department top notch. Good news is I know the owner so one way or another we will get it resolved. It might come down to something being wrong in the braking system like the calipers or maybe the master due to the cable for the brake being adjusted wrong for all this time.

I will give you an update once I hear back from them. Thanks for all your input!
