There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I know from a pin that I have been going to Americade since 1988. Maybe before that too, I just don't remember that far back. I do know that Canada St. was not blocked off in the last thirty years. Until this year. I have to say that it was a very stupid thing to do. I was there for the week and yes, I did demo rides, tours and lots of the other stuff. I always have a good time up there but shutting down Canada St. ruined the street scene in the evening.
I liked it better when the expo was on the beach and free parking in the grass. The reason for the move was that the state wanted too much money for the lease. The lack of vendors over the years was due to the cost and a declining amount of sales. This was due to the economy.
Will I go again? Absolutely. But if Canada Street is closed again I may skip a few years.
