• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Am I the only one?

For the turn signal, do not try and push in till you feel a detent or click, a light tap straight in cancels the signal. It feels like nothing is being accomplished but it shuts off every time.

I had the same problem, I went with the Signal Indicators in the mirrors from Muth Mirror company, best thing I've done to my Spyder

I also agree that the switchgear should have distinct detentes. I also agree that it's not a big deal if you ride the Spyder exclusively, but if you switch back and forth among other bikes in the stable it gets annoying.

Pete: I don't let my signals self cancel. I just said they WILL cancel after 30 secs when moving. Pushing down in the center position of the indicator lever cancels mine every time.

Regards,

Keith

Yeah, I'm sure it will come with time, Keith.;).......I think half the problem is the Vision had a "hold it to the left or right for >1 second and it will self cancel when you release it", so you could be quite forceful. Once my hands start matching my delicate personality, it will all fall into place:shocked: .....in the meantime, thank goodness for mirror leds.

As for the shifting issue I would suggest foam handle covers, I got mine from Tricled, a site sponsor, ?12 per pair or two pair for $20. This solved MANY issues for me. I also offer this thought. Do NOT make the mistake of keeping your fingers on the triggers, that is a disaster waiting to happen. This is on of the first things they teach at weapons training school. It sounds like you have thumb on one and finger on the other, change your habit and change to larger foam grips, this will place your fingers closer without resting on the paddles.

Joe

I'm definitely not holding my thumb and forefinger on the gearshift paddles. But the forefinger is so close to the paddle that the involuntary movement when I lift my thumb to change up is enough to trigger a downchange first. Two possible options are to trim a little off the outside edge of the downchange paddle, or put a foam band around the handgrip to keep my fingers a little further from the paddles. Or, as you say, foam handle covers for the grips, although I don't find the grips too thin. Presumably it won't be easy to install stronger springs on the paddles.

As for the indicator cancel I'll try just touching the switch rather than pushing it right in. Otherwise LED repeaters installed somewhere will be on the wish list.

Thanks to all for the replies.
