• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Am I the only one with a slow F3?

Hey guys am i the only one with a slow f-3 top end mph 104. I was surprised i was figuring on about 115 mph at lease. i do have a 28" F-4 wind screen. That has to be hurting the mph some. I have stock exhaust, no mods except the F-4 wind screen. It runs hard up to about 100 mph after that not much more. what kind of speed have some of you guys run with a wind screen, stock exhaust. I am going to take the F-4 wind screen off just to see how much it does hurt mph. will put it back on after the test, go to have my F-4 .

What would be your reason for wanting to exceed 100 MPH??? Are you going to rob a bank and try to outrun the cops???

Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly.

slow

i have 2600 miles on f-3 now. i was at a place that i could open it up and see what it would do. its not something that i do all the time. but i have been going fast all my life, on 2 wheel or 4 wheels and I am 70 years old. I was just wondering thought about the performance of my f-3. might be the windscreen hurting it the most. thanks for all the 2 cent

When you find out how fast, let us know.

Never been there, not going to go there, and am happy to get to my destination a bit later.

I had mine up to 100 and felt I had plenty of throttle left. I weigh 290 and have a tall windshield. I didn't really want to bury the peg at at 200 mph!

I have seen several times on this site where someone either in jest or for real, mention the 200 speedometer. I am not saying this response was in earnest or not, but.....
I remember one person stating that they should remove the unrealistic 200 MPH speedometer and put a real one on the byke.
Look if you have not figured it out yet, the 200 is for when you switch over to metric or Kilometers. If the bykes go 100 MPH when you switch it over to Kilometers it would be about 161 KPH.

They are not making a statement with the 200 it is a function of different measurements.

It's fun to see the expressions on bystanders faces when they see the "200mph" speedometer. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Do you want me to REALLY wreck your day??
If you were seeing an indicated 104 mph; you were probably barely hitting 100...
Speedometer error seems to run about 4%... :banghead:

It's most likely the windshield that's holding you back...
Don't worry about it, and enjoy your ride!

Not that slow

i was touring in Germany recently on a road without limits.
On my F3S i do have a windscreen and made it to 115 real mph's.
real in the sense that that is what my Navigation showed.

If you want to be 71, slow down unless you are in a hurry to meet your maker. ;)

Report back after you remove the sail from your bike. It all about drag and the F4 is about as big as it gets.

Need to speed...

Do like to open her up where road permit and I am solo. I have found that I no longer bounce back as I did, I'm shorter on time to spend recovering, I like my life at this point so if I hit the three digits i get it out of my system. I leave it to others to be the record holders...

He's probably got at least another 1,500 rpm or so, to play with...
(When I hit an "actual" 105 on mine: I was just under 5,500 rpm. Figure in the fact that the F-3 is geared about 13% lower than an RT... puts him at around 6,000rpm.)

I took an F3 for a test ride at the dealer, I am experience RT rider so they said give it hell. I got on the "test track" and went for it. When the speedo read 105 mph I realized I was on one that had the brake pedal set up for a tall person.... I could not reach the brake! I was pulled way back in the seat due to the force of acceleration and the wind speed. I started gearing down and was able to pull myself forward to reach the brake before I hit end of the "track".

I still had plenty of throttle and it was still pulling but not as hard as it was up to 100 mph so I can believe it would get to about 115 or 120. I decided to stay with my RT due to the fact that the wind buffeting was just too much for me.
