• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Really need a backrest for the F3-S, but refuse to pay BRP prices. Has anyone found a good option?

Too early....

I'm sure they are working on them but will need more market studies. New model and all they need to see the demand and cost..Hang in there I'm sure you will some soon.

Okay, Corbin will only be offering a complete seat. With backrest, no plans for just the backrest.

I have both the driver and passenger backrests "on order" (as well as all my other accessories). Who knows when any of them will come... Hopefully something will come out earlier from the aftermarket people!

Utopia

I'm thinking Utopia will probably soon have their own version available. I have one on my Victory Cross Country and love it. They even match the grain and color of the upholstry exactly.

THE UTOPIA OPTION

I've put many Utopia backrests on many Mtc's including Spyders............what I have found is the upper part of all of them is pretty much the same .......and they all bolt to a BRACKET that is designed for the seat PAN of whatever MTC you want it for ( the more popular ones anyway )............I did the bottom Bracket for my 2014 which matches the OEM from BRP.....this was actually one of the easiest I've done ..........If you have an Upper or get one ....a Bottom bracket can be made for any F-3 seat pan.....Mike

Like how smoothspyder uses the passenger hand bar to set their backrest. Either driver or passenger. They just don't have anything for the F3

How funny, I forgot about Utopia. In fact, I was the very first Victory Cross Roads that was the basis for your bike. I mailed him my seat years back and he used my bike to make the brace. I think I got it for free if I recall... I'm still on the Website! http://www.utpr.com/crosscountryroad.html It was a great backrest!

Received a nice response back from Smoothspyder. Will have a backrest soon. I'm already sold.

checked out smoothspyder.com very nice backrest design, looks like a quality product, use as a passenger or rider backrest.
Hope Jim makes it work for the F3.

Others above mentioned Utopia. I have had them on two of my :ani29:'s. The 2014 fit right through without having to cut the seat. Don't know how it will work for F3, but am guessing they will have one.

The one for the 2014 cost about $250 and is adjustable. That is also an improvement over the BRP version.

Did you see the price on the smooth soyder? I know it can be used for either driver or passenger and that it is a quality product but it is more expensive than the BRP backrest and the original post was a complaint about price. Not trying to disagree, just trying to define the logic used.

the site shows prices of $485 plus $20 shipping for the model that he sells now.
I would think the new one would be similarly priced.

corrected: $465 plus $20 shipping = $485 total

Thanks for the info. My last back rest was 85.00 from Harley Davidson on my then Electraglide. Just snapped in-between the two seats, fully adjustable.
