• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Altercation at the Tag office

My doc offered me one when I broke my leg, he said I would be in a cast at least 4 months. I refused. I guess what ticks me off is the "family" members that use the tag.

People today are more worried that they won't get what they're "due".
My doc tried to talk me into one, too...a permanent one. I refused, he said he knew I would. I never question the people who use the tag, you can't tell about disabilities. When you see a lone teen in the spot in a Buick with a tag, though, you have to think something isn't right.

I have a disabled tag on both my car and my Spyder. Before the Spyder I had one on my V-Star 1300T. I've had disabled tags since 1980. I've only had people say anything about my parking a motorcycle in a disabled parking place twice...once in Missouri and once here in Florida. Both times I simply told them to "look at the plate." The first said, "I've never heard of such a thing." I simply shrugged and limped on my way. The second demanded to know what was wrong with me. I asked him if he was born rude or had to work at it. Then I limped away from him, too.

Some people are just idiots.

We also use a hang tag clipped to the windshield. My wife has MS and people don't say much when we take her mobility scooter and crutches out of the trailer.

i never use the "hang tag" on the bike...
Around here; that's just like an invitation, for some :cus: to walk off with it. nojoke

Sorry you had to go through all that! Can't say as I'm (card carrying cynic---too many years in Criminal Justice) surprised though. Schmucks!!!

As a former ERT Commander and Disturbance/Crowd Control Specialist; I recommend all the following techniques for recalcitrant individuals/groups: :joke:

Fire a couple shots into the ceiling with your pistol (the bigger and louder the better), and order everyone to chill out, and sit the :cus: down! :joke:

Pepper spray EVERYONE, wait for the screaming and thrashing around to stop, then order everyone to chill out, and sit the :cus: down! :joke:

Taser the loudest and rowdiest antagonist; being sure to let 'er run for a bit before shutting it down (NOTE: Do NOT use this on people with oxygen tanks as explosion may result)......no need to tell them to sit the :cus: down as they won't be able to get up unaided anyway! :joke:

If you happen to have an expandable baton with you (canes are excellent substitutes!); a couple/three sharp blows to sensitive body areas of unruly persons will usually slow their roll; followed by the aforementioned sit command ! :joke:

If you have advance reason to suspect some sort of issue might develop; wherein other members of the public rudely express disapproval of your ideas or actions; you could bring a large irritable house cat with you to throw on their heads (no, no, seriously........................we used to do this in crowd control all the time)! :joke:

Be sure and video the entire thing, and post online so the rest of us can talk about how we knew you before the arrest and incarceration!

Hope these helped!

I'm lucky

At 67 I can still move as if I'm 45
I have an 88 yr. old stepdad that is blind and deaf
He does every well taking care of himself except transportation and cooking
When my mom died 3 years ago there was no one to look after him in Bridgeport California [very small town]
He has lived there all his life and would die if moved
I retired and moved to watch over him
The rest of my family just wanted to put him in a home
What is wrong with the US people today
When did they decide to put people that are old or disabled out of the way instead of helping them complete their life with dignity?
Don

I'm right there with you brother. Good on ya

So many people, including some goverments "know" what is right for you. Your opinion does not counts. Sad state of affairs. A couple months, some guy was with a couple other guys, looking at the Spyder he "knew" that it belonged to some dumb kid, nobody with any sense would buy that. When I went up and started the "get on" process. He wanted know how old I was ? I managed to kind of keep my cool, I said, I was old enought to have in the miltary, learn how to use weapon and old enough for a CCW. He dicided to just shut up and leave.
A little respect goes a long way.

I think I would have sent a letter to the State BMV over yours. This is a sore point with me as i drove special Needs school buses for years.

"It's not a motorcycle unless it has two wheels"

"It's not a motorcycle if it's not a Harley"

"You're not handicapped if you're on a motorcycle"

All indications of the same level of stupidity.

It seems anyone can get them......................
