• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Almost hit a person today.

A lot of Bravado out there. Pretty hard to kill someone even if you think they deserve it.
And if it comes down to it, He who hesitates loses, And sometimes He who doesn't hesitate makes a big mistake.

Very well said! I couldn't agree more.

All I can say is I hope you can have the patience to put up with a horrible "system" which is gonna let her out eventually and maybe, who knows, she could really go off her rocker this time and seriously hurt somebody, whether it be you or some other neighbor.

So what if she knows how to conrol her behavior around the cops? If it were me, and I'm just saying if it were me, it wouldn't matter what kind of control she has. If I were riding passed her house responsibly and she runs out to threaten me, and this has been ongoing with no intervention from the police, or the police let her go, and I feel my life is in jeopardy, that's it, she's done. Unfortunately like others said, the Castle Doctrine plays into this and my state doesn't have it (why am I not suprised). But breathing to me is more important than someone hurting or killing me and I'll deal w/ the court stuff later. It's too bad many states do not give us a legal right to defend ourselves. If more people were able to defend themselves, there would be less loony toons and criminals around. And we wouldn't be paying to house these looney toons with three hots and cot cuz they'd be long gone.

Your approach to this entire situation is admirable Amanda. You realize she's not in the right frame of mind and needs serious help. Glad you were not hurt. You did the right thing by getting away from her and calling the cops.

Hopefully she can get the help she needs. Problem is they get on meds and then go off them later on. Very sad indeed.

Many of them are highly intelligent. I know a few that are Schizoaffective that are really smart-- but if they go off their meds--- LOOK OUT!

Yeah-- Bravado overload indeed!:roflblack:

It matters to me if she has control over her behavior because if she is flat out crazy I can tolerate more than if she isn't...that's all. She shows she has control, so I'm likely to be less tolerant. I know the system, I worked in that system for several years as a therapist so I know what to expect from it. It is broken. I'm also very aware it could be worse when she comes back and I know she will be back. Pain is temporary and wounds heal and if I can avoid her like the last time by swerving and moving to a safe distance then that is what I will do. Eventually, if it gets to the point where my life is in danger and there are no other options then I'll do what I have to do but I won't be happy about it.

:agree: and the fact she seems able to turn it off when the police arrive also says alot about her. As Amanda said, she is obviously aware of how the system works, and is intelligent enough to use it for her benefit.

You handled it very well, and need to keep doing what you are doing. I am also assuming you will have to keep showing up for the court dates if anything is to ever come of it. Hopefully they will get her on the meds she needs, and she will stay on them, and there will peace in your neighborhood for quite a while. I wish you the best with this situation.

:yikes: She has a bond set at $2000, and I guess that means she needs 10% to get out. Well...we will see how this goes. Neighbors and myself are preparing for the worst but hoping for the best.

I expect she will be  as her pets were adopted from the Humane Society and she probably thinks she did nothing to land in jail. CRAP!!!

I just caught up on my sleep too. :gaah:

It may be time to get some more sleep while you can, but hopefully it won't be as bad as you are aniticipating. I wish you, and all of your neighbors, the best.

Judged by 12 might be better than being carried out by 6, but basically I think your life as you know it would be over at that point. I would judge myself, have to live with it and always wonder did I do the right thing. (these things rarely go to trial though).

True. I think we all rehash things we have done, but it is important to protect yourself and that which you hold dear. Act in haste, repent in leisure is something my mom used to say.
