• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

All I can say is WOW!!

Just picked up our new 2014 RTS.
What a FABULOUS MACHINE!
i've ridden bikes for well over 40 years and have never ridden such a great Creature!
We put on our first 500 miles last weekend, learning the feel of our new ride.
I have a couple of questions. Where is the "Sweet Spot" on the 1330? Where does it like to run best?
Also, I notice there is no Red Line?
Any idea on where it is?
thanks for all your help! I have been reading on this great site for months :)

1330clubThe Spyder in all it's incarnations is a dream to ride. So glad you are enjoying it.

My first experience with the 1330 has been on the F3. After riding an RSS with the v-twin 998 for four years, I have to say 3500rpm - 4500rpm is pretty sweet on the 1330.It shifts like butter and if I need some power I just downshift and roll the throttle (SE6).

Also, I notice there is no Red Line?

Spyders have an rpm limiter built into the nanny. The RT and ACE forum guys can tell you more. Have no fear, you will not be able to destroy the Rotax by reving.

You are in the right place Grizz. Welcome to the fun!

:congrats: on a GREAT choice! :2thumbs:
I THINK that the redline is at 7,500 rpm; the rev-limiter will definitely let you know if you stray too far...
My bike seems to like cruising at right around 3,000 rpm...

Grizzled old man?

I also have a '14 RT-S. Circuit Yellow

What mods do you have planned??? WE have the anti-sway bar and enlarged skid plate ( The OEM one is a joke). I think that a high mounted ( third ) brake light is a must. AND swithcing out the BRP stickers on the trunk and frunk is easy and looks much better.

You said you were on 2 wheels---- so what did you ride??? I've been on all different sizes of bikes over the last 50+ years and currently still ride a Yamaha V-Max and a Honda Valkryie.

When you stop riding ( ryding ) there will be :::::

Kaos

:congrats: on your new 1330. I find the sweet spot on mine is right around 3000 rpms. Seamless, quiet shifts. Plenty of power to crank it if need be. The redline is at 7500 rpms, but you have to look at the tach carefully to see the demarcation.

The sweet spot may vary depending on conditions--but it wont take you long to figure it out.

My 2014 RT likes shifting around 3000 too. You will get the feel of it after a couple more rides. The nanny won't let you over rev your engine so play with it and have some fun. Welcome to the club.

Congrats!!

:congrats: on your new Spyder! :nopic:
Like you I have MANY years on bikes and was impressed with the '14 Spyder to the point of 'it followed me home!' Unlike the tachs of most bikes, I had to look closely to see the outer ring changes colors at 7500 RPM. I have not revved it that tight (yet) as it is still on break in. But I am a believer in testing things while still under warranty. As I have no experience with the older spiders, I can't compare. All I can say it has SURPRISED a few fellow riders. And me.
