I am posting a link to the American Motorcyclist Association data base due to some misunderstandings about the law. The AMA database is supposed to be the most comprehensive and accurate place to find out about the motorcycle laws in every State. The website asks you to sign in, but you don't have to. I never do. All you have to do is, where you fill in the blanks on the main page, just put the State you are researching in the first blank space. All the State laws that apply to motorcycles will pop up for the State you selected just below where you are. Also, it's easy to switch to a different State... just put that State in the first blank space. You can also filter for specific laws, but there's no need to do that unless you want to.

The AMA was the primary motorcycle organisation a long time ago. They sanctioned a lot of motorcycle racing and lobbied States to pass or repeal State laws and Federal law affecting motorcycles. They are still very active in motorcycling and legislation.
The data base is one of the best single locations to find so many variable State laws. No two States are the same. The data base is not the final word on law... If you need confirmation, almost all States now have their laws on the web for the final word.
The place to look in Florida is https://www.myflorida.com/search_results.html?q=motorcycle+laws#gsc.tab=0&gsc.q=motorcycle laws&gsc.page=1
Other states have similar websites with their own laws. The search engine is your friend. This should help clear up any questions about motorcycle laws in the USA.
