• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Alignment question.

Sitting on my spyder i noticed a slight toe in of the right side tire, i counted the exposed threads on the black steering tie rods on each side, the rigth had 7threads showing and the left which is the more straight loooking side, had 5 showing. Is it common for the right wheel to have more toe in than the left? Gonna have my local dealer look at the spyder, i dont notice it wandering or anything while riding, just that it looks off.

I just had my RT laser-aligned...
I was a fullblown skeptic before riding the bike; now I'm a believer!!
If there is anybody down near you that uses the ROLO system; have them put your bike "under the lights", and they'll definitely make it handle better! nojoke

If the ride is OK, don't worry. Mine looks like the wheels are toed out, even after laser alignment. In my case it's clearly an optical illusion due to all the body curves.

But I agree with Bob, get the laser alignment ASAP. you will not believe the difference if your Spyder is only a little out.

Closest place seems to be new york, and thats really far away.

Third week in july, its only a three hour trip, wont be hard for me to ride down to have it aligned, what do you charge to do that?

Since I am already on the road, I'm charging my shop price of 120, $10 off for veteran or military ID. The problem on meeting is sometimes having a place to perform it, but I have family in the area and can probably arrange a flat spot. Where exactly in WV are you? We are cutting across the tip of WV just across from East Liverpool, OH. Might be able to get a bit closer to you.

Looks like you'll be close to wheeling which is about 2 hrs from me. Would be a bit closer, yes. I will have to send you a pm to work out details as the time gets closer.

Mikecronis, the independents are pretty consistent on charging 130 when they travel too an area, 120 when you travel to them. The other big difference, at least from what I have seen is that with an independent there it's no charge to check. I can't speak for everyone but if I do your alignment and you don't agree that the problem is fixed, then there it's no charge.

Gotta say..!!

tire treads are not a good guide..but getting it checked is a good idea. Looks like you can get the new laser type and that should clear it up. Make sure they check the rear wheel before aligning the fronts...

Reasonable rates, sir. Pike's Peak Motorsports was charging $200 just to check to see if toe and camber was out! I know "Mike" on Spyder Riders Club in Colorado was charging $90 back in May, but I didn't have mine yet. Hopefully someone in the Colorado Springs area would be willing to help me and my wife out. I'm a bit annoyed PPM doesn't do this beforehand, and that upon new purchase and an obvious drifting that they'd still charge so much.

I'm still waiting for approval to join the Colorado SRC. I'd be more than happy to pay for peace-of-mind!
