• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Alaska Reality Shows--Fact or Fiction?

Faking scenes and phony plots are bad enough--here, they broke the game laws in order to spiff up a show.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Two cast members and the production company of the Discovery Channel reality show "Alaska: The Last Frontier" have been charged with using a helicopter for a black bear hunt.
A former production company employee tipped troopers off about the illegal hunt, Alaska State Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters told the Alaska Dispatch News

"When the footage came on, we saw it," Peters said. "We were able to investigate it after the fact."
The helicopter flight and bear hunt were filmed for the show near Homer in mid-September 2014, according to charging documents. Atz Lee Kilcher, 38; his wife, Cristina Jane Kilcher, 40; and an arm of Discovery Studios called Wilma TV Inc. were each charged on July 13 with a misdemeanor hunting violation.
Under Alaska law, it is illegal to use a helicopter to hunt for game. That includes transporting hunters, hunting gear or unprocessed game to or from the field.

Charging documents say that the Kilchers were transported by helicopter and then participated in a bear hunt.
"Alaska: The Last Frontier" began in 2011 and follows the Kilcher family as they live off the land in an isolated community outside Homer. The cast includes Atz Kilcher, father to Atz Lee and singer-songwriter Jewel.
Sean Martin, director of communications for the Discovery Channel, wouldn't say whether the hunt cited in the charges was shown on television. He declined to comment on the charges.
The Alaska Dispatch News was unable to reach Atz Lee and Christina Jane Kilcher on Monday or Tuesday. They were also unable to reach Wilma TV.

Atz Lee Kilcher and Christina Jane Kilcher are scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 11. There is no date posted for Wilma TV.

most shows do add stuff. but from what i understood if you flew into a hunting area, you were not allowed to hunt that day. you had to wait 24 hrs b4 you hunted. guess we will see what happens

In my Alaska research I saw that, if you visit Homer, you could do a tour of the Kilcher homestead. If you do a Google search you can see they have all sorts of touristy attractions there. Also Atz Kilcher lives in Texas and is the father of the famous singer Jewell.

RE: Homer Interesting place. Most of the 60's Hippies moved to there and Girdwood.

I also note that Atz resembles very closely one of the players on the new West Texas Investment Club--think--Hillbilly Shark Tank. I could only stand the first 15 minutes of that one. :roflblack::roflblack:
