There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Alaska has arrived at the top of my list

Yes on passport

Do you need a passport to go? Sounds like a fun trip.

Canada will require. Apply now..good for 10 years.

my plan is AFTER BRP OWNER's EVENT to head north to Alaska. I think a caravan would be AWESOME. I'm making a list of those who have interest...mrfats...dang that working..still put you on the list!!!

I road my roadking to Alaska in 2006....a little over 5800 miles in about 3.5 weeks.....the Alcan is a pretty drive, great scenery, lots of animals and full of frost heaves which are like speed bumps...most of them are marked but I hit one at 70 mph that was not marked and put both wheels og the roadking in the air....that was exciting...they also do a lot of chip seal in the summer....I have lots of pics I took on my trip...pm me is you want to talk some more about your trip....

are you going to the redwoods?

Wow - that's the year we went and we did it on a Road King also 8400 miles for us in 3 weeks.

Alaska

one half of us is retired and Alaska has been on my bucket list for 30 years, even if the OE is not in Oregon we would love to go , our passports are up to date and it doesn't take long to pack a Spyder and a year is plenty time to work out the logistics , the retired half just bought her own Spyder and I can work my vacation time in. If you can forgive us for missing the Heart of Washington this year we would like to go.

i just placed you on the "Yes, interested" list. Stay tuned

I sure would consider going. Sounds like fun. Only constraint for me is to be back home no later than mid August in order to get ready to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and the wife's 75th birthday. I would be going solo.

Wish me luck, and keep an eye out for an obituary... :opps:

FYI

One thing to note about traveling into Canada - if you've had a prior arrest or a DUI, you will be denied entry. I know you can file some type of paperwork with the Canadian authorities if a certain period of time has passed, asking for a waiver. Not sure how long it takes for any of this though.

I found this out when we were on a cruise to Alaska and more than one passenger couldn't get off the ship.

This has been on my bucket list for a long time and now that I'm retired I'm a definite yes. My wife is a definite maybe, but I have a year to work on her

It's on my bucket list

Maybe if I get a 2014/5 next spring? Seems like better fuel mileage would be a big plus for this trip.

Would be interested , can a 2013 or prior make it between gas stops ?
Regarding passport , I have a Michigan driver licenses , which is called a passport license. Used it to enter and leave Canada by road , no issues !

Take the boat up with bike the drive around and boat back with stops in the 3 ports the home.
This makes a lot more sense. The Alcan Highway still has a lot of gravel and mud when it rains. Be sure to take a couple of extra drive belts as they do not like gravel. LOL
