Dear BRP

Have you been keeping track of YAZZ your free spyder Ambassador?????
She has been sharing her trip from Houston to Alaska and hundreds of spyderlovers check each day to keep track of her.
She is encouraging each of us to put some miles on our spyder with out saying a word.
For those who are considering buying a Spyder she is by far the best sales woman/ambassador you could ask for.

You had a number of Rep's at spyderfestus. (you should make them take vacation days for that event) They had fun mixing and mingling with spyderlovers and with Yazz. I would bet their cheek muscles were sore from non stop smiling and riding the Ozark twisties.
I did not meet any Advertising Rep's from NY ------they would tell you to take advantage of Yazz's great adventure. Anyway It would impress all of us if you suggest that Yazz go to any Spyder dealer for an oil change compliments of BRP. We would really be impressed if you sent them to a 5 star hotel for a night of luxury plus picked up the tab for dinner. If you can't do either one how about emailing her to say thanks for all the good PR work. [email protected]

BRP would also owe BMW for last summer when he was brave enough to undertake the journey to the Last Frontier. I am guessing there were others also--but he is the only one I know about.

Lamont posted a link to her blog/thread on Facebook which I thought was nice. And I just saw where BRP on their Facebook page has a blog by Irish2themax about his trip of a lifetime. Here is what their Facebook page said about his story "We're always looking to hear about your perfect road trip! I traveled the Alcan in 1958 I cannot remember any asphalt until you entered Alaska--maybe there was some before Edmonton I just can't remember.
It was a tough trip in a four wheeler that I do remember.

I did miss BMW's trip report--------that's not good!!!!

What I do believe is that anyone that makes an Alaska trip has dealt with and overcome many obstacles---- they will be a worthy Ambassador.

How about this:

Hey BRP for past present and future accomplishments ----you could send them a nice letter of recognition.
You might throw in a coupon for an oil change.

That would be nice, but don't hold your breath. When Jennifer and I took out 7.5 week, 13,600+ miles trip in '09, all we got was "Have a safe trip!" No offers of any kind, not even an "attaboy" when we completed it without any major issues. But that's OK, we completed what we set out to do, so we felt good about it. And all the super Spyder riders we met along the way was PRICELESS! It's something no one can take from us.

Spyder ryders are great at promoting our Spyders with "little or no" help from folks at BRP. I would guess it's because they have no competition at the present.
With the growing popularity of the Spyder, I believe some other manufactures will get into the game in the future.

I try not to get involved in these discussions, but I can no longer contain myself, and have to chime in. Could it be that our expectations are just a bit high? :dontknow: I applaud the achievements of all the people who have set out on great adventures on their Spyders. Yazz, Murphy Brown, BMW, Dudley, Lamonster, Dltang & BJT, and many more. I sure wouldn't expect BRP to reward or specifically recognize them, however. I don't remember GMC acknowledging me when I turned over a quarter of a million miles on my old van. Why would we expect BRP to do something similar? While such recognition would be pleasing, it sure shouldn't be expected. It is nice that you are throwing Nerf balls instead of rocks at BRP, but it would have been nicer if you had thrown nothing at all. JMHO

IMHO, I agree with Scotty. After all, isn't touring what many of us bought our Spyder for. Why should we be recognized for something the product is designed to do. If you check out the trip reports on ADVrider, Alaska trips are a dime a dozen. This doesn't lesson the experience but I don't see BMW,HD,Suzuki or any other manufacturer giving out awards for trips far more challenging than riding the Alcan highway.
BTW, I love reading Yaz's reports and would also love to make a trip like that myself. But somehow, I just can't see BRP sponsoring or even recognizing my trip.

Who are the many more? never mind I think I know.
There are some who are week-end warriors and others that ride, ride, ride and ask not why.
Spyders are RV's and should be treated as such. I don't care who, but it is great that those who can, DO.
However, it is interesting on their travels.
