• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Akropovic exhaust and CAT replacement

Hi, ;)
I have removed the baffles from my Akropovic muffler and am thinking of removing the CAT for a bYpass Y pipe.
Has anyone done this mod combo and can provide a report? I would like to know whether there is popping on deceleration or marked improvement in fuel usage (as in better mileage).
Is/was there a noticeable sound increase after the muffler mod when the Y pipe was added?

I have am ST SM5, I have a Cat Eliminator with Akrapovic, without the baffles you get a little popping on decal, and a bit of improvement on throttle response and performance, and fuel consumption seems to be the same as before the changes, although, to be honest fuel consumption isn't a priority for me, its all about riding when I can.

I have actually just put the baffles back in, as on a long trip they are just a bit too loud without the baffles

Question: what bike do you have?
Bob,
I have a 2013 ST Ltd.
I was looking at ways of improving mileage so I had considered Muffler baffle mod (done), Y Pipe and addition of TwoBros Juice Box Pro (283A).
The actual performance of the ST is great, no concerns there. Rod.:gaah:

I highly recommend running THREE tanks of non-ethanol gas in your Spyders, before you spring for these mods. If, after three tanks, you still feel you need more - go for it, although, I prefer the Yosh R77 for the 990 - I think it looks and sounds better, and is $600 cheaper.
