Akrapovic baffles

I recently purchases "new" Akrapovic and bypass for a 2015 RT. The muffler did not come with the baffles /"inserts". Dealer checked with Can Am and said not available. I'm sure I've seen videos/photos with the baffles in. Anybody have any information or know where I can get them. I like the sound without would just like to hear the sound with them in. Thanks!!

Just so we're clear. Are you saying you bought a new Akrapovic and it doesn't have these circled baffles installed? That's how they come when new. Where'd you get it?

Yes the Akrapovic was purchased new from Whit at Pit Bull Powersports in January. It was on back order from BRP so it wasn't a muffle that was sitting on the shelf for 2 years. The original box the muffler came in gave the model # and then said W/O inserts. Whit could not find them on the parts line so started a "case" with BRP and it was returned that the inserts are not available. He even contacted Akrapovic and was told he would need to contact BRP.
So, if anybody has a set laying around, I'll take them.

I've never seen one sold by a dealer, on eBay, or direct from the BRP catalog that didn't come standard with inserts. Strange to come from the factory that way, unless it was meant for some other country. Hope you didn't pay full price. But, I guess it's too late to take it back now. It's already installed, right? 20-20 hindsight. I don't think Whit should have let you buy it.

There have been a few members on board here that have removed their inserts and like it that way. Maybe they would be willing to sell them to you. Try the search function, too. You might find someone to PM and make an offer.

my new 2015 RTL has a brand new dealer installed BRP Akrapovic Exhaust and it has the baffles installed. New new you could buy them without.

BRPcare - Are You Seeing This?

Did you ask for an Akrapovic without baffles, or did Pitbull specify, when they ordered, "without baffles?" If not, then I would think that Pitbull should be knocking on BRP's door and asking why you didn't get them.

BRPcare - can you help this owner out?

When I bought mine, I dropped it on install and broke the Carbon Fiber tip. It took some doing but they finally came threw and sold me a new one (tip). They are made overseas and its hard to find the department that sells parts for them.

The silencer I bought I could tell must have came off a demo. The dealer had to scrounge for all the hardware. I could tell the baffolds had been removed before because I did remove them and had no problem with removing the screws that holds them in. I have them in the shop but am not sure I want to sell them. Besides, mine is for the smaller motor and may not fit anyway.

I remember someone here posted an add they got in the mail announcing that those silencers were 350 dollars off. When I found one, the dealer did not belive me and had not heard of the offer. I showed them the thread on spyderlovers that had a photo. I told them I would buy it only at the reduced price. It took awhile but it caused quite a stir there. They were calling BRP and no one had heard of the offer. finally they got a hold of someone that said to give me the deal. A few weeks later I got the same offer in the mail. I must have been the first to get in on that offer.

Whats surprising is the silencer comes with explicit warnings not to remove the baffolds, that you will be breaking the law or something to that affect.

Here is a photo of the sticker on the shipping package. Not sure if it says WO inserts or not available NA WO inserts.

Thanks for that picture!
It appears that they are available in two configurations: with; and without the baffles... ;)
Why they can't obtain a set of them for you, is a mystery. :dontknow:

Looking at the entire label in context, and remembering that this is a foreign company, I think in this case that the NA stands for North America. But I'd wager a Sam Adams that a muffler without the inserts is not California Compliant. I think your muffler was meant for the Canadian market or some kind of special order.

I read that to say N/A (Not Available) WO (without) baffles. Without baffles it would not be street legal in most countries.

BRP does not have a parts warehouse in the USA but scours all dealers for parts when needed in the USA. I have ordered many BRP parts and they come from different dealers in the USA. My thoughts are PitBull ordered it and it was shipped to them from another USA dealer as is BRP custom. Some one at the dealer where this came from probably removed the baffles for a customer who damaged his and never replaced them before shipping to PB.

Akrapovic does not sell mufflers without baffles unless special order.
