• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

If im not hauling a trailer do I really need the air compressor that's on Rt-s? Im still trying to justify paying the extra$$ for the Rt-s.

Its not just the air shock you get, but a few other upgrades as well that make it really worth it IMO.
Course I speak of the 2012 model; I haven't looked at the specs of the new 2014's.

I was brain dead when I made my last comment. It's too early. anyway I agree there are alot more of upgrades than just the shock. I love my heated grips, stereo etc..

I've just pulled the trigger on a base RT. The actual shock is the same and adjustable with an air line/foot pump on the RT. The only difference is I believe it is automatically/remotely adjustable. As far as I'm concerned, once you have it set to your preference, you'll never really use it, unless you're continually switching from one up to two up (with a heavy pillion) or hauling trailers.

It's basically like a preload, once set I've never really altered them on my motorbikes. You can add the module at any time and I doubt its too difficult to hook up yourself.

I'd be interested to know how many of those with the compressor have adjusted them via the switch, or does it automatically adjust the rear depending on weight?

That said, if I could get the RT-S in black in the UK, I would have gone for one. This RT is not my first choice but because we are buying two, a pair of RT-S in the wrong colour for us, is too much expense as the difference is doubled. I also think we'll lose less on the RT, which is this best value of them all in my book as the spec is still very generous and used buyers won't be poring over a sales brochure reminding themselves of the differences.

It does auto adjust with weight and if there is a passenger on board.

And having had to go behind the dealer to properly mount my pump after they replaced it, it is doable, but you better be ready for some serious dismantling just to get to it properly.

I do take advantage of the setting. If i'm just making miles on the super slab, then I set it toward the low side for comfort. If I'm in the side roads with some turns and twisties I like to make it firmer.

But that's just me.
