• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

has anyone ever installed a can am spyder air management system on their can am? If so, does it work and can the average mechanical person install it?

I assume you're referring to the Spyderpops Air Management System? I installed it on my 2008 RS and I would say it's relatively easy to install. They provide pictures and written instructions, but I have to admit it can be a bit difficult to follow some of the pictures. Once you get everything in the proper location though, it does make sense. Just make sure it looks like it matches the pictures before you stick anything together because you would probably not be able to separate it again without destroying it.

And by the way, if you're going to get the AMS, I think you should also consider getting the "Missing Heat Shield" which they also sell. Between the 2 of them, I do think they significantly reduce the amount of heat on your right foot. I still get a bit too much heat on my foot, but I'm in Arizona and sometimes riding in 110 degree weather, so there's probably nothing that's going to make me "comfortable".:sour:

One last comment. If you're not already aware of the y-gasket issue we all eventually have, make sure you read up on it. There are some other posts on the web-site that have all of the details.

Good luck!
Rick

I installed the AMS and heat shield on my RS. The right side is still hot, but less so than prior to their install. Pics of AMS were a bit difficult but mostly cause they were black & white and less than desirable copy quality. But both were easy in the end. Next will be an investigation of the Y gaskets. Good luck.
