• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Aiming headlights

For those that have a shop manual, can you please tell me if there any measurements given to maybe help with aiming the headlights. As it stands right now, I can't ride my Spyder at night, there is just not enough light on the road for me to feel safe. Now the overhead signs on the highways, I light those up really well :roflblack:

I know I can go out and adjust a little, test ride, adjust a little again, test ride again, etc. Just figured if there were any measurements like maybe have the Spyder a certain distance from a wall and the lights should be a certain height from the ground, it would just make it easier.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me. It's way too hot to ride during the day and figured if I could get my lights set right, I can ride late in the evening when it's cooler

what type of spyder do you owen RT/ RS The RT you need t take the left and right side covers off, they are the ones with witch say Can am on them you'll see a gold knod turn it to the front that lowers them to the back it lifts them, make sure you have your rear shock set were you want them at. back the spyder about 10 or 15 FT off a wall then adj them that way. the RS adj or wright under the light you use a screw driver to adj them hom this helps you.

Assuming horizontal floor and vertical wall:
(From the shop manual)
  1. Place Spyder where the headlights are 33 ft from test wall.
  2. Mark wall at 27.5" from ground & another at 24".
  3. Place 200 lbs on saddle.
  4. Select lights to low beam.
Beam aiming is correct when the focus point of headlight reflection is between marks.

Adjust both lights evenly, if needed. Adjustments appear to be just below the headlights, on the lower part of the cowl.

Hope this helps...
