• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

As an aging biker (58 years old with 43+years of continued riding pleasure) I think I have an idea of what the problem is . . . . . vanity! These cats are so busy checking out how they look on their new cruiser (watch them as they pass in front of a store window) that they fail to notice that traffic is no longer moving. Another issue is the 'top gun fly over lane change' . . . . . . even clipping one of the modern jelly bean car bumpers is enough to cause you to eat pavement. . . . . I think this is proof of 'natural selection' . . . or disproves 'evolution' . . . . . . this is just my thoughts . . Vaughn
 
Personally, I'm glad to hear that a lot more 'mature' people are out and about, doing the things they love to do. I work with the 'mature' population and have seen many of them -- upon reaching a certain age, decide they are too old and give up the things they have been enjoying all their lives. Too often, at that point, they usually sit down and begin to die.

Granted, given physical and mental limitations that might come with 'maturity' (especially relating to driving skills), there may come a time when it is time to slow down or quit . . . . but until that time comes.... life is for living. So, ryde on!

As I passed a few bars on my 70 mile cruise this afternoon I noticed many bikers in the bars. No Spyders though? I can,t imagine they just stop for ONE beer?:dontknow:

Anyway I researched Motorcycle deaths and Drinking , speeding and night driving brought the Greatest Fatalities.:yikes:
 
Of course older people will be hurt more and die more, their bodies aren't as strong as they used to be(osteoporosis being a big one) and thier immunity/body healing abilty is much less than when they were younger. Same as when they fall and break a bone any other way, it takes a lot longer and a lot of times it requires a joint replacement surgery. Old enough and it can put them on the death bed.

Could be, lol, a lot of the older people that fall and break their hip may actually have broke their hip and then fall. The femur snaps off near the top where the joint is and the person of course falls down, but thinks they tripped or whatever and thinks that broke the bone.
 
Awright Whipperschnappers! Us geezers aint any different than youse guys. We are just a little slower at some things. Personally, they will have to pry my hand off the throttle before I am ready to quit riding.

I'm sorry.

- He was your friend?
- Maybe. I don't know.

- But he was a boy.

He died.
You don't get any older than that.
