• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm new to this forum and possible purchaser of a new Spyder. When you look at the catalogs and dvd I got from the dealer on Friday, all the pics are of a younger generation than myself. Will I look a bit foolish if I purchased this bike in my 50's? I'm used to riding a Harley & Lehman trike. I recently sold both and looking for a new bike(trike). Looked at the Triglide, but who wants to spend over 30k for it!:yikes:

56 y/o here yesterday I rode over 350 miles with a spyderlover who was 77. who need youngsters.:D

I say who cares if you like it buy it!!!!

At the LA event last week that was the thing I liked the most was that there was people of all ages & all walks of life!
We all came togethor with at least one thing in common thats right the:spyder:.
I only wish my Dad was still here "God rest his soul" to share in the :spyder: Adventure with me he would have loved it.
I am 35 & love to ride with any one that wants to ride no matter what they are riding!

Any way welcome.

Thanks for the reply Bill.:agree:I was hoping to see a few riders in my area. My local dealer claimed he sold over 80 this year! In my area Harley's are everywhere!! Would like to see more of the Spyders.

My wife bought her Spyder as her first road bike, in her mid-fifties. I love it just as much and am considering purchasing a second for myself. I am in my sixties. Who gives a rip what the ads show? You are only as old as you act! More relaxed seating on the trike conversions, but the Spyder is quick and sporty, and handles great. Go for it if it moves you.

From hanging around here for almost a year, I can tell that you would be in the majority being in your 50's.

Don't worry about the marketing material. Do you see old geezers and grandmas in the underwear section of the department store catalog? It simply is marketing. (sorry for the mental image!!!)

Go test drive one, you'll like it

Spyder is my first ride and I am in my 60's. It's great! Keeps me young! Go ahead and enjoy it if you like it. I guarantee you won't look foolish and you won't regret it!

stop playing the mind games

HI, I was almost 57, bought it last Sept, 57 now and love it. 1st bike:2thumbs:, go for it:ohyea:

There's another thread on this forum asking about everyone's age. If you search, you can probably find it. I think most of us are over 50.

Don't even worry about it! I'm 64 and LOVING it! ENJOY!

:2thumbs:

i am 38 and yes I am a youngster but I believe that if you want it and can afford it than buy it.....:2thumbs:

I saw a shirt at Bikers Edge here in Wichita and had to buy it. It say " You don't stop riding because you get old, You get old because you stop riding" I am sixty and have rode for 41 years, I intend to keep riding until I go blind or die. To day I went riding around town running errands I got thumbs up from a couple of tunner cars, Harley's, even a blue haired lady in the passenger seat of a Caddy snapped my picture on her cell phone then waved at me. I stoped by a parking lot where MSF teaches their basic course and was mobbed first by the instructors then the students I had to answer questions for about 15 minutes. I finally took off so they could continue the training class. If you like it ride it.

The Spyder is just plain fun!! Why have only the young enjoy it? Just go for it. You only live once and life is too short as it is. Have some fun!!!

34 here

I'm 34 and I think if you want it, and can afford it, then you should buy it....the heck with everyone else. If they have a problem, it's their problem and not yours! Usually it's because they are unhappy themselves. I've found that those that judge do so because it makes them feel better when putting others down rather than looking at their own faults and shortcomings. Enjoy your :spyder2:!

JACK H.

Jack if you are 78 god bless you cause you surely don't look like it. :congrats: Oh by the way if i had to guess i would have said 60-65.

I am only 74 and been riding for sixty years. My first two wheel had a water pipe frame and a gasoline engine off a Maytag washing magine (sp?). I believe Spyders are just fun to ride. I agree with riding to stay young (kind of). Enoy life go Spydering.

gm10,

I'm a north of 60 year old grandpa. My beautiful Valkyrie trike was doomed once I rode a Spyder SE-5. Get the Spyder and join us. Think of it as your own personal fountain of youth...at least you'll feel like it is!
