Aftermarket Seat

Just wanted to ask someone who has installed an aftermarket seat, how hard is it to do? I usually read the instructions, and my hubby does the work. We are looking at a Corbin seat with backrest. Just want to make sure it's not going to be too much of a undertaking...lol

It isn't difficult to remove the RT seat. I would suggest that you cover any openings with tape so that you don't lose any hardware.

Also having a rotating ratchet makes the job a lot easier and quicker.

Go to the Ultimate seat website...installation instructions including removal of stock seat are available for for downloading/printing. It isn't a difficult task. Covering all the openings under the seat with tape is a must...don't want to lose some hardware like a small nut into one of the openings because it most likely will not be retrievable.

I put on an Ultimate seat. It's a lot of work but not difficult. Make sure you block the holes in the plastic pan before you start the job. If you drop a bolt down there you're in for a lot of work!:sour:

On Corbins website, there are instructions for installing a new seat. Having a helper makes the job much easier. Takes about one to two hours to install the new seat. As mentioned in other posts be sure to cover any openings under the seat on the bike with tape or a rag so the small parts will not disappear and never to be seen again.
