• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Aftermarket belt?

Has anyone found an aftermarket belt Harley belts are $100 or so in the aftermarket I know the Spyder belt is much longer but I'm sure if the non OEM suppliers had them the price would come down

To late for me--but interested. $350 for a belt and $100 to install does seem a little steep for most. Never wore one out--both broken by driver error and rocks.

Are these prices in the USA? That's way too much for a belt. They can be bought online for $240.

Belt source tool

I don't have my Spyder yet. It's supposed to be in by the end of this week so I can't put my hands on a drive belt. There are a few companies in the USA that manufacture and supply heavy duty drive belts. The tricky part is being able to cross reference the the part numbers.
Here's a tool that can help when talking to a potential supplier.

Firefly: An update. The dealer found they had a belt in stock--and they charged me $299.00 for it. They had my :spyder2: up and running by yesterday afternoon. In the shop for a little over 24 hours. Good turn around, so I am not complaining.

:agree: Maybe if more people would stop complaining about prices, And praise the dealers for good service there would better dealers :dontknow: ie, [I can get it cheaper off the Internet.]
I was at my dealer this Saturday, This guy comes in and wants a tire mounted that he bought on line, So the service manager tells him we have 9 new bikes to deliver today plus our regular service, Can't do it!
The guy gets angry and walks out in a huff!, Go figure?

:agree: I don't always get the lowball internet price, but when I have a problem with my :spyder2:, the dealer always bends over backwards to accommodate my needs. That is worth a lot to me.

I tell my dealer ...

...it's not about the money; it's about the relationship! So far it's been a good one.

Before buying on internet or anywhere else I try and discuss it with my dealer first. When I wanted the Corbin armrests for my RT he told me to let him order it. It was the same price but he didn't have to pay postage. Tires I bought after market but they installed. I even got the Ride-on. They were not familiar with the product but now know about it and can recommend to customers as an alternative. Good communication is priceless.
