After input on Handlebar risers... Anyone?

Would like some input on Lamonster Handlebar risers.
Trying to get the bars more towards me as I don’t have much bend in my arms,
and having to push the backrest forward makes for not so relaxed long rides.
The bars need to come towards me more to relax my arms.

LM risers will help bring bars a little closer but for full adjustment, including wrist angle, you should look at Heli-bars. Not cheap but I found them to be the answer for max comfort.

What year ride do you have? I have the '21 RT and tried a 2" riser from Slingmods. The problem for me wasn't the rise, but the handlebars themselves. I ended up buying the Helibars. They're expensive, but you have many configuration options. But, having said that, I used to have the 2" riser with the F3 Attitude bars and that was a decent setup. I just wanted more.

I added Lamonsters 2" riser to my 2021. This made all difference in the world for me. Coming from a 2011 RTS, the seat on the 2021 has 2" more butt room than my 2011.

I have them on my '22 RTL and they work fine for me. Of course your reach and preference are going to be different.

I put the risers on my 2022 RTL and they helped, it still wasn't right. On my next trip to Missouri, I stopped in at Lamonster's and got the short reach bars. One of my sons lives very close to Nixa. I put the bars on with the risers and it still wasn't what I wanted. I took the risers off and now I just have the short reach bars and they work great. This is probably like seats, everyone is different, and you may have to experiment to find what works for you.

6"1" and I put the Lamonster riser on - made a huge difference in my comfort - gave me some bend in my arms. (I did rotate the bars foreward a bit as well). It seemed to open up my view of the mirrors also.

For my 2022 STS, I used some Lamonster 2" risers from my F3S, along with some leftover long reach bars. Oddly enough, long reach bars are taller than the OEM RT bars. Works great for me.

Do the 2" risers block your mirrors?
No blocking of mirrors for me, on F3-S.

But there are quite a few factors (your model of Spyder and mirror setup, your height, the reach of your bars, your arm length, your handlebar tilt adjustment, etc.).

So it's all going to depend. But I can say that for me, the mirrors have been nowhere close to being obstructed, regardless of handlebar, riser, tilt adjustment, or anything. Of course, the mirrors on the F3-S are different than on the other models, so your mileage will vary. ;)

I have an adjustable riser on mine and I used the stock bars with it, I can raise or lower it, but I find with the stock bars and the riser in the lowest position it is great, it raises the bars about 2" or so when on the lowest "setting". I used my stock bars, as the bars which come with the adjustable riser are flat, which at the lowest "setting" would be in the stock position. On my old panhead, I have ape hangers which fit just right, I so thought I would get the extra height with the riser and stock bars.

Thanks for your response. I should have mentioned I have a 2016 F3T. The stock position is very good, but I believe if the bars were back towards me about 2" it would move me back against the backrest. I should be able to adjust the bars up or down to move out of line with the mirrors. I think I'll just have to decide to try it or stay the way they are.
Thanks,
John

... I believe if the bars were back towards me about 2" it would move me back against the backrest.
This is what I was after, too.

As you probably know, the Lamonster riser is supposed to raise the bars up 2 inches and back 1 3/4 inches. In my case (and yours, it sounds like) I was more interested in the "back" than the "up," so I used a Dremel tool to modify the guide hole in the handlebar to allow the handlebar to rotate back towards me more.

I'm sure the Heli-bars are great, but given the cost I thought I'd try this option first. So far it seems like a successful experiment....

The biggest advantage of Helibars is the ability to adjust wrist angle. This is key for shoulder comfort. Another helpful tip that I and others did, is to elongate the pin hole in the handlebars to allow a bit more forward movement of the bars. That said, with stock bars, you cannot adjust the controls to match too much forward movement, but not so on the Helibars, as they allow full rotation of the controls.

I installed a 2" riser block on my '22 F3S and the results were it moved the bars towards me 1 3/4" and up about 5/8" in the lowest position. This position feels better, but I haven't had much seat time yet to see how it feels on longer rides? :)
