• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Adjustable footrest

I am a new spyder RS owner, and probably should have bought the RT, however for 8-9K more i didn't now I am working on the comfort issue. I installed the 4 inch riser bars-purchased from custom dynamics, and now am looking for a way to achieve better leg comfort.

Custom sells adjustable footrests, but with the foot brake I am not sure how safe they are. Also are the difficult to install? I am not even sure how to remove the lower body panels.

I would also love any other comfort ideas-does the comfort seat help $400.00 worth?

I am coming from 2 years of riding motor scooters-the last being a Honda silverwing tat I was very comfortable on but got bored, and felt this was a lot safer as well.

Any comments would be appreciated

Welcome to the ride!

I'd recommend highway pegs. Being able to stretch your feet out on long rides is really great. I'll switch back and forth between the standard pegs and the highway pegs.

I think mine are from Kewlmetal, but there are others on eBay. You might search on this board also.

Good luck!

The adjustable foot rests are fairly easy to install. If you check out www.esicycleproducts.com you will find most of the information you need, as well as the actual installation instructions. Here is a direct link to the installation instructions, so you can figure out if it is something you are ready to attempt: http://www.esicycleproducts.com/SPYDER Footrest installation.pdf

It is also very easy to remove the tupperware, and you will get plenty of practice if you continue making changes to your Spyder. Just this past Thursday, we had to remove the frunk, front trunk, from my wife's Spyder in order to install the 12 volt power outlet. It was no big deal at all.

I really like the comfort seat on my Spyder; however, several others have stated the stock seat is one of the most comfortable they have ever ridden on. I feel the comfort seat is a good bang for your buck modification. Of course, depending on your budget, you could always look into the Corbin, or Russel Day Long, seat options.
