• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Been in my home town of Utica since riding up on Friday and Saturday. Everyone I know here has seen a lot of Spyders rolling through, so that is a good sign that the event will be a good one.

Nobody let me know they were in Utica, so you missed out on Ol'Wacky showing you some really great food unique to the Utica area.

Two miserable days of heat riding up here. I have to say that at 41 years old, I'm starting to find new physical limits... It wore me out and it took a couple of days to get back to normal.

Oh... Ironically, I paid off the Spyder last week, and it started dropping parts on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Lost the license plate light cover like so many of you have.... The screw with a little circle of plastic is still in there. I took some red testers model paint and painted the top half of the light bulb and top of the bulb facing rear in order to stay fully legal until I get back to NC and work on getting the part or a different assembly.

So... I'm looking forward to seeing many of you again and some of your for the first time. I have the neon yellow Olympia jacket, and the yellow moto-lights, and the missing license plate cover.... Oh... and I have Bender the robot on my back fender.

Here is my route out of Utica. Taking a run to Lyons Falls, NY first so I can stop at Agers Falls and take pictures or swim.:D

I used to snowmobile allot out of turin (tug hill) not so much anymore. To many crazies up there.

We left Wed. morn. and stopped for the 1000 island boat cruise, then down to Watertown where we spent the night. We will pull into Lake Placid about 11 AM ahead of the rain we hope . See you all there .

Small world...I grew up in Lyons Falls/Lyonsdale/Port Leyden on the moose river...Still own 22 acres of undeveloped forest property there right on the river. I was really looking forward to going to this one but the surgery last week put the damper on it this year...Will definitely make the trip next year...Enjoy everybody...I'm jealous

There is nothing quite as comforting as returning to your hometown. Sorry to hear about your license light cover. I was lucky, Nancy's fell off in the garage. Same story, it cracked out around the screw. Very flimsy, and there is nothing for it to bottom out against, so tightening the screw hard can break it. I cut some reinforcing discs (inside and outside) from styrene, and glued them in place with MEK model cement. Haven't had a repeat. I highly recommend that all GS/RS owners remove and carefully examine their license light cover. Don't forget to add a blob of RTV silicone to the screw hole on the bracket before you reinstall the cover, then let it cure overnight before riding. Losing the screw has the same disastrous results.

Godspeed, Dan. Enjoy SIA!
