• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Adding OEM CB and GPS

After reading all the posts on alternative ways to rig up GPS and the different communication sets , I decided I am best going with the BRP standard equipment; expensive though it is. Taking my:spyder2: down to Broward Motor Sports. Crossing my fingers, because they have never installed this on an RT before

If you look around you can find the GPS elsewhere for lots less money. maybe even the CB. It is the same equipment for less. I got my GPS on line for $533. The dealer gave me a big break on the CB and two headsets for $780.

And if you need help, this forum is great!

CB - GPS install

I have installed BRP CB/GPS on both our RT's. It's pretty straight forward if you're a little handy and careful. The BRP instructions are good..not great. Some instructions will require reading more than once.

I have two recommendations. (1)... If you have a digital camera, take progressive pictures as you disassemble. They will save you a lot of head scratching as you put the thing back together... (2)... as you take screws and bolts out make yourself a screw map, something like the one in my attached picture... Len

Install done

Need to correct the impression I was doing the install myself. But it is done. :ohyea: Rode 200 miles with the new functions. GPS through the headset - great, but it doesn't volume increase with speed. Radio not the greatest sound in the headset. The Ipod is better. Helmet to helmet clear, but some delay in picking up sound. Overall, to get full fuctionality of the :spyder2: I thought it was worth it. Broward MS did cut me a break on parts and labor. Saved me about $300.
