• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Added Wig-Wag Brake Modulator to my RT

I added a Signal Dynamics Wig-Wag Brake Light Modulator for more brake light visibility. I already had the Custom Dynamics LED High Brake Light that also services as rear running light (less bright with the brake off, if you add the "Dual Converter" per the instructions in the link). I installed the modulator module after the high third brake light, so that the high light continues to stay on steady when the brakes are applied. Therefore only the lower original brake lights modulate. When you apply the brakes, the Wig-Wag module flashes the brake lights alternately four times quickly, then together four more times quickly, then flashes them together more slowly until you release the brake pedal. All the while, the top brake light stays on steady. I figured this combination would give me the most visibility.

Here is a short video I took with my phone to show the results. (Sorry it's not better than it is. This is my first attempt at editing and posting a video. I should have zoomed in on the bike more and made the video a tad longer.) :opps:

To tell you the truth, I had the shop do it, because they had to disassemble the rear panels in order to do some warranty work on my air suspension system anyway. So it didn't cost much to have them do it. However, the harnesses you want to get at are behind the top rear panel, and perhaps also the small panel under the left passenger handgrip. The rear panel comes off fairly easily with eight screws–four in the trunk, and two in each saddlebag. The small panel under the left handgrip Would be a little more difficult, but still not too bad. On that one there is a screw toward the rear, under the seat near the seat hinge, which you have to get at using a hex wrench with a 90° bend in it. (I've had the one on the right side off a few times to get at the radio.)

As for the wiring, it shouldn't be difficult using a test probe to determine which wiring in the harness goes where. The directions that come with the module are fairly complete, but of course are not specific to the Spyder.

It's an easy install if you have the ability to remove the panels. The connectors Tricled supplies are plug and play.

Good suggestion, Bob. I didn't know TricLED sold these. I got my Wig-Wag module from Amazon.com, and of course it did not come with plug-and-play connectors.

Custom Dynamics also sells a modulator, it mounts in the rear trunk and has 7 different patterns. It does control all of the brake lights together though. I have mine flash 4 times then go solid. Whatever you can do to make yourself more visible is great.

Actually I may have made a mistake... Too many vendors these days. Tricled may not make one and Anne is right... It maybe Custom Dynamics I was referring to. I don't remember now.

TriLed doesn't make the high mount light so they probably don't make the modulator. Both companies have great products and I have my favorites from each company.

Thanks Anne for the correct answer. I just looked and it is Custom Dynamics!

I looked at the Custom Dynamics one. But I chose the Wig-Wag from Signal Dynamics, because I like the way it flashed the two lights alternately.

BTW, Bob, one of my next mods may be your first one. I'd still like to get those LED turn signal lights hooked up. ;)
