• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Add on moving ahead

Spent yesterday adding extras to the RT Gas Door Drivers Backrest and Armrest for the wife.
Next on the list is the rear Mud Flap
Thanks everyone for the pictures and PMs about how to do the Gas door

If anyone else is thinking about putting in the door I will take pics with a ruler in it to show exactly the location if they want

Looks great. I have an Ultimate seat with the door, and it is much more convenient than raising the seat when you have a passenger or luggage in back. My gas strut won't always hold my seat up with the backrest attached, and that's another problem this will eliminate.

Are there any pics of the step-by-step or are they with the door? Where do I get one?

sorry I didnt do and Pics of the step by step but maybe this will help

Large Gas Door - Chrome # 281781118481 on E-bay (Per Blueknight911). figured were I wanted to place it then removed everything off the backside of the door (except the door hinge), Then I put painters tape on the seat to mark where i wanted the holes use a soldering iron to melt through the seat then I drilled
I bought SS screws 18mm long and T-nuts (the type with out the points on the back)
If i was to do it again I would go with 1 1/2 even 2 inch because getting the bolts to start in the T-nuts with out being able to see was a major PITA, The screws stick out the back you can see to start then (going to have to cut them off any way the long on would have saved so much time).
Now its time to find the center of the hole from the outside melt through the the seat vinyl then drill the pan, From the back side I used a 3 1/2 inch hole saw using that center hole and cut through the pan (careful not to cut through the seat vinyl.) you will then be able to remove the foam around the hole to get to the vinyl you may want to use a dremil with a coarse sanding wheel to enlarge the hole for easier access to the cap it self. I removed extra foam behind the hinge and where the lock hit the pan (just for ease of opening and locking). back to the back side I cut the vinyl from the hole six ways then folded then tightly to the back of the pan and stapled them down (just for looks)
Hope this helps

Hi, I'm BLUEKNIGHT911 and have done more than a dozen of these. Some things that will make it easier: is get some 1/4 x 20 x 2" machine screws w/nuts - you use 3 of these at the beginning ( in the method described above ) to force the ring down, squishing the seat material. Now when you do the other holes, you can use 1 " bolts, because they will reach the "t" nuts ( I also cut off 2 of the points and filed down the other 2 ) I used a much smaller hole saw and then the dremel with a SANDING STONE ( not a drum ) the stone doesn't clog with melted plastic......if you want a Matte blk door E-bay item #381504238006 ( 29.95 ) ...... Mike
