• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Adapting from CanAm 4-point square plug to my trailer?

I have a 2014 RT Limited, just got the trailer hitch installed yesterday and it has a square four prong plug. Is there an adapter to go from that to say a 6 point round? Or what is my best option? Also, I did just buy a non can am trailer. Can't afford the matching one. That's what brings my questions. Thanks in advance for any and all assistance.

The 4 pin square male plugs are available OTC or on line, from there, a 4 wire flat female plug with harness and checking out which wire goes where, you can build your own. A VOM or test light can be used to check out the pins on the Spyder side of the connection.

Thanks for the help John, just ordered it and it will be in next week. $7.50. Yay!!!
Next question. Are all six wires on the trailer plug used? If so for what? I suspect your trailer uses separate turn signal and brake lights, not the combination stop/turn lights. That's known as a 5 wire system. If so you will use the brake lights for both turn and brake and the separate turn lights will go unused. If you want to use separate turn and brake lights you'll need to replace the Spyder harness with one that has 5 wires out, not just 4. That will turn into a whole 'nutter project.

The sixth wire on the trailer plug most likely is for auxiliary power to the trailer for interior lights or something of the sort. You will lose that feature with either 4 or 5 wires from the bike.

Of interest to some. When I had the hitch installed on my 15, I took it and my Aspen trailer to hitch world. They didn't have an adapter to match the square 4 prong so the simply cut a flat four and folded it and it fit perfectly - and cheap!!!
