• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This comes from my brother who is a retired corporate pilot.

Several years ago during an energy crisis, pilots and crews were encouraged to get on the ground as quickly as possible to conserve fuel. Some airlines even based bonuses on how much fuel could be saved during flights.

Coming into Atlanta one evening air traffic was particularly heavy and as is the custom, planes were 'stacked' in a circular rotation around the city, from as far east as Loganville and as far west as Carrolton.

Then came a transmission...."Atlanta tower this is United 729 we have am emergency. One of our engines is signaling low oil pressure and is overheating, Request permission to break through the stack and land immediately."

"Bull****" came an immediate response.

"This is Atlanta tower. Whoever made that last transmission, please identify yourself."

After some silence.... messages began....

"This is Delta 1013. Negative on the bull****."

"This is Lufthansa 41. Negative on the bull****."

This is Air Canada 312. Negative on the bull****"

And on it went down through the stack.
