There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. ACS Rear Suspension Missing Sensor Bolt

I spotted this missing bolt on my new RT S while I had the left side panels off. Looks like another example the ACS Sensor parting company with the rear swing arm.

Maybe somebody who has already had this problem and dealt with it can tell me if the missing bolt is specially constructed in any way. I've discovered it screws into an M6 thread but it looks as tho' it will have to be free to pivot with the movement of the swing arm and if this is so I can't just lock it down with an ordinary threaded M6 bolt.

Also, I noticed there is now a peg preventing the top sensor arm rotating backwards so it cannot be assembled in a "right" or "wrong" way any more. (Circled)

Mine was missing when I picked up my bike. The sensor arm was in a position that caused the rear suspension to fully inflate. After a minute it went into "Manual" mode and I was able to hold down the "soft" button until it was ridable. I took it back to the dealer and they put in a bolt and aircraft nut. Looks like they put in a hex head bolt through the link into the threaded frame piece then put an aircraft nut on the back to keep it from ever coming off.

This link is connected during assembly at the factory and not by the dealership. Must have someone new putting these together and not following the directions. :gaah: Makes me wonder what else was missed.

Thanks for your assistance, Roger and Y Rider.

Following your advice I cut a M6 bolt to length. I didn't have a flange bolt so I used a mild steel washer instead. At the back of the threaded hole after I had tightened the bolt I screwed on a Nylock nut. Let's see it escape from that! :D

The air suspension bag shows zero pressure on the Schrader Valve so my next job is to inflate it. My Spyder has an on-board compressor and remote setting adjustment. The way I read the Operator's Guide it should bring the air suspension pressure up to the setting I have selected. If not I'll have to use a tire inflator on it until it gets the message! Here's hoping...:sour:

Thanks again

You should not have to add air at the Schrader valve if you have the RTS with the compressor. Just set the desired ride height with the dash button. When you hit the button, the ride height gauge will appear at the left side of your display, set the desired height, and the compreesor and solenoid valve will take it from there. If an orange "Manual" warning screen appears, you have additional problems. Either your Spyder did not have the ride height sensor limits correctly set at the factory (Warranty Campaign 2011-006) or the sytem will need to be rest via BUDS. In that case, set the pressure at the air valve under the seat, to avoid damage, until you can see the dealer for repairs.

Absolutely on the money! When I first took delivery I remember the dealer pointing out that the hissing noise I could hear was the air suspension system adjusting to a new setting, so it was working OK on hand-over. About 350 miles further on and the bolt on the sensor linkage has disappeared. :sour:

That, and the fact that the electronic opening of the frunk isn't working either makes me think that certain members of the quality control team at BRP are dreaming! :gaah::shocked::hun::shocked::hun::shocked::hun:

My display appeared to be normal also when I first started it up. I was able to select a position (5 positions from soft to hard). However, after a couple minutes if I selected the suspension button again to select a softer position it displayed "Manual" with a orange background. I was then able to hold down the "soft" button until the air pressure dropped.

Are you trying to open it when the RT is running? If not that's the problem.

Yup, Lamont, I've tried it both ways, with the engine running and with the ignition on but without the engine running. It won't release via the electric cluster switch either way. In the grand scheme of things it's no big deal, the frunk releases OK with a turn of the key.

Try this.
Open the trunk with the key
Close the latch by hand
Start the RT
Hold down the micro switch on the left of center facing the bike and then hit the trunk release button and see if it opens

It could be the switch never got hooked up when they installed the trunk.

Done that but it was a no show, Lamont, no activity at all. However, I pulled off the connector at the microswitch just to make sure it was installed OK. It has three wires with three mini spade-type connectors built in and it appears it was installed UPSIDE DOWN so the underneath black wire wasn't connected to anything! This is likely to be an error on the part of my alarm installer who had never worked on a Spyder previously but had the front off the Spyder to install the alarm.
Now the connector is properly installed on the switch it works perfectly. Thanks.
