• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Aces Has Landed

I decided to give the Aces fuel additive product a shot. They make several application specific blends. I'll be trying the gasoline and diesel mixes.

Here is what I know so far.

1- The stuff is VERY expensive!
2- It comes in pretty colors

If it does what is claimed I will get better performance and I'll break even or even save money on the cost of the product.

Once I get some miles on this product, I'll let you know.

Sorry..!!

expensive and colorful aren't great selling points...!! :roflblack::roflblack: ....:popcorn:

I was trying to find a price for this stuff and can't find one. However, all of the reviews I can find on the web say it is great. Let us know what you find out Ron

You're right! But I am trying to be accurate!

Besides, I'm not selling it so I can afford to be accurate! :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Now, if I do start selling it you'll have to do your own fact checking!

Ron, when did you get the diesel Spyder? I betcha that sucker has some torque! :p

I've always wanted a diesel Spyder but no one will take me seriously... Kind of like my wife, actually.

I have a VW TDI and a Ford Powerstroke. That's where the diesel treatment will go. I know there are several Spyderlovers who have diesel vehicles so I thought there might be some interest there as well. Only SethO rides a Spyder everywhere and year around!

:chat: How long did he say we would have to wait? :dontknow:

It's been almost six hours? :gaah: What the heck is he doing? :dontknow: We need results now! :banghead: . . . actually, though . . . if it really works, perhaps I could use the ethanol-free 87 octane gas that is available near me, and use this to boost the octane to the required 91.

My thoughts exactly! I have been running premium fuel because my Spyder runs better and gives me about 2 more MPG than with Regular or mid grade. I'm wondering if I might be able to drop down to regular and get the same or maybe even better results. That would go a long way towards paying for the additive.

It will be awhile before I can generate meaningful Spyder numbers. I will be putting it in my VW tomorrow. Sorry....

Snake oil has been sold to the unsuspecting for recorded history. Show me an independent long term laboratory analysis that any aftermarket fuel additive does any good, especially the return for the cost. I do know the cost of additives is a ripoff. We all squeel about the cost of a gallon of gas at say $3.50. An 8oz bottle of typical gas additive at $5 equals 62.5 cents per liquid oz. A liquid gallon contains 128 ounces, so your additive costs you $80.00 a gallon, in effect! Makes the petroleum additive marketers a lot of money, and results are subjective because by using additives you cannot tell if they really doing anything in your engine, as you have no comparison. Being in the fuel systems business for 40 years, I can tell you We have made tons of money cleaning the muck out of fuel systems from overuse of gas additives. Just my 2 cents worth.
