• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Accident and Spyder totaled

I'm so glad you are OK. Bikes can be repaired or replaced but not people! Please let us know what happens with insurance as I have Progressive too!

I'd suggest sending Steve a PM at http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/member.php?7096-XenonDepot
and tell him what your wanting, I know you stated Xenon, but I'm thinking you really want HIDs. Either way, I'm not sure if Steve has the specs for the bulbs used for the 13s yet or not, but he will do whats needed to take care of you, GREAT Customer Service & Good Quality Product as well. Teddy & I Hope all goes easy & well for you from this point on

Will do.. Thanx!

Glad to hear you're finally getting all this worked out, not sure I would have had your patient and calm I would have exploded by now.

I do worry as I have progressive myself, a while back in the summer of last year a truck reverse from there drive way into the side of my car. Progressive was great, they covered all the repairs and dealt with the other driver to get reimbursed. Did not cost me a penny, I dropped the car off and 3 or 4 later just picked it up, all panels replaced new.

Never claimed on my motorcycle though been accident free all my life. I've had two incidents, while parked in a Resturant's car park, a drunk driver repeatedly bash our car while trying to get out of there own parking space. Then the one above where I was stopped in a line of traffic and a truck driver back into us.

You pay huge amounts every year for all your toys and when it's not even your fault you suffer all this to get what you have been paying for all year.......:lecturef_smilie:

good luck with the new bike

harry

Just signed paperwork with Progressive for the '12 and placed a deposit on a '13 with Honda East of Toledo.

Wow!!

Wow! Glad you are ok! You are going to be real sore in about two days. Hope you get your :spyder2: fixed soon.

First off.. I'm alright and at home. Will go to Doctor tomorrow to have a check out but so far no pains.

heading West on I-275 in Kentucky towards airport. I was the tail gunner for a PGR mission to the airport to bring a soldier home. I was doing 60 mph in traffic and then WHAM! I saw it a split second and gunned it but didn't get to the shoulder. Witness stopped and said he say the whole thing. Taxi cab was traveling fast and slammed into me. Taxi driver said he was doing 60. Uh.. WRONG. He hit me had enough that my cooler flew out the right saddlebag and I ran it over with the right front tire.

Managed to stay on the bike and a small scratch on my helmet visor. The bike just went over 600 miles. KY is a no fault state so no citations issued (grr.....). Progressive insurance notified.

Maintaing the salvage rights to the bike (or any vehicle) can be a tricky deal...
The insurance company will; instead of paying you the cash value of the vehcle, will keep a percentage of that amount (perhaps about 25%) and then let you keep it.
That's all well and good if you:
have family or friends who can help you straighten it back out cheaply
are going to EBay out some of the expensive parts that weren't bent
are planning on some sort of rebirth for it as a customized "Frankenstein"

Just keep in mind that these things NEVER seem to go as smoothly as you hope...

bad ride good deal

Must have been a bad ride but the good side shows how the spyder came through it as well as you.
Safer on 3.
Now I have been behind a spyder at night they seem to be visible . Some one wasn't watching the road.
Like others said take care of your self get checked out.
Gary

Fortunately after 4 months, it appears no health issues. As of this AM the Spyder is paid off  and now the waiting game on my 13. Last time I talked to Honda East in Toldeo, the said it left Can-AM and is on it's way.

OUCH!! Gotta love these stupid "no fault" laws...i have to deal with increasing amounts of stupidity from the "fo' wheelers" every day when i'm on the road in the big truck. Hopefully you're ok!

:2thumbs: Will they call you when it arrives so that you can be present for the unveiling? ;)

they will but I'm three hours away from them. I really don't want a trip up there until it's ready to roll (including the dealer installed options).

All options and the ball joints are being installed. Scheduled to pick up the '13 on Saturday.....Finally!

You will love your new 2013. (especially when the balljoints are replaced). I can't say enough about mine. It was almost a year before I "got back on the saddle".

Welcome back to riding again.

Chris

Glad you are okay

That is impressive. Bike held up well. You stayed on it. All a plus. Glad you weren't on two wheels, you'd have to type this out with a pen in your teeth. Get yourself checked out. And again, glad you came out it walking wounded, it could have been so much worse. Back on the saddle again.
