• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Accident and Spyder totaled

Wow. Glad you're ok.

I'm curious to hear how Progressive treats you as that's who I have all my stuff insured through too.

There are so many good posts in here I could not chose who to +1... So I will just offer a +1 to the thread

Also an Insurance guy here... Own two agencies...

Comments about the adrenaline is spot on. Everyone's bodies respond differently. The most important item the next few weeks is your body, not the bike (It is a close 2nd of course ).

Glad you are okay, but look at it this way.. If they total it, you'll be able to get a 2013 with the new suspension and everything...

Geeesh, someone hits you in the rear, it's their fault.

But, that aside, you are one lucky dude. Thank goodness you weren't on your Goldwing or that you wife was riding with you. Hope you check out OK.

ACCIDENT

Sooooooooooooooooooo glad to hear you are OK for the most part......As said by others injuries in cases like yours may not surface for quite awhile.....be very careful what you sign off for........Good Luck..........Mike..

I sent you a e mail. I will repeat if you did get that one. Glad you are okay. I would add to somebody, make sure you are okay, delayed problems can be serious. Machines can be fixed or replaced, people can not.
Any I can do let me know.

there was a similar type accident here in the ft-worth area but the 2 vehiciles that were involved were a p/u truck and a goldwing, the outcome wasn't as pleasent as yours.goldwing didnt hold up to well to rear-end hit.biker was killed. hope theres no pain or suffering on you and your family wishing you well.

KY is a no fault state so no citations issued (grr.....)
First, glad you are okay.... Second, I understand the concept of NO FAULT insurance, but not sure what that has to do with NO CITATIONS.

In Ohio, you hit someone from behind it is a least an "assured clear distance" citation - no AND, IFs or BUTs. Am I missing something?

Thanx all. I have a Dr. appointment tomorrow at 1600. I have a little swollen and pain in my right knee and my right rib cage is sore. Want to get a head-to-toe check out.

Talked to the insurance adjuster today. He's going to look at the Spyder on Thursday. I went and looked at the Spyder today to get more personnal gear out of it. The wife went with me. When she saw the bike, she was greatful she decided not to go yesterday.

Took a few more photos... The tire and frame assembly are bent to the left. You can also see where the front part of the seat is crumpled up do to the impact.

I'm impressed! nojoke
Your Spyder took that impact better than I would have thought possible! More evidence that these bikes can take a licking and keep on ticking!
Glad to hear that a trip to the sawbones is planned.

The first pictures that you put up at the scene showed that taxi leaking from the front end; I'm guessing that the radiator got taken out of it.
Did he get towed also?
